Have you told your boss?
I'm sitting here writing my boss an email to let him know about my appointments next week and can't help wonder what he could possibly think is going on with me. He knows I'm going to doctor appointments, and a lot of them, but I didn't really want to tell him why I was going. He asked on two occassions if everything is alright and I just say yes.
Have you ladies told your bosses so they don't think something really serious is wrong (not that IF isn't serious, but you KWIM)?

Re: Have you told your boss?
When I started with the RE I told my boss that we were trying to get pregnant and both DH and I were going for testing. I was straight with her- some days I would be late and some days I would need off. She was very understanding.

Re: Have you told your boss?
No am I am not telling anyone. While I know it makes sense to tell your boss to explain absences, I would rather avoid questions later like 'did it work?' (in case it didn't)
And plus, if I'm at the doc's office for monitoring by 7:30am, I am out by 8:30 and at my desk by 9.

Re: Have you told your boss?
at my old job i told my boss i had a medical issue but didnt go into any more details. they really cant ask much more legally.

Re: Have you told your boss?
I just tell him when that I need to go to a doctor's appointment, appologize and that I will be making up the time and leave it at that. I really don't need my boss to know personal problems, him knowing that I have "a medical problem that's under control" is more than enough.

Re: Have you told your boss?
Well, my boss is my sister...so yeah. But in order to ensure no one thought I was getting "special treatment" I also let her boss know so she'd know why I was working odd hours and taking time off with short notice. Totally supportive and cool with it!

Re: Have you told your boss?
For 4 IUI's I held back. Mainly b/c i almost would have rather been shot in the face then tell my male (uptight) boss i was having fertility issues. Once i was moving on to IVF, all the apts got nuts. There was no way that i could say i was going to be out as much without having an excuse. It got so stressful, i ended up telling him. It was the best decision i ever made, it was a weight was lifted off my shoulder, one less thing to worry about.

Re: Have you told your boss?
My old boss knew and he was great with it. Now I have a new boss who's kind of a tool and I haven't said anything to him other than I have DR appt and I need random days off with 2 days notice so I am convinced he thinks I am dying or something. I did tell HR so that at least someone knew what was going on and she was totally fine with it.

Re: Have you told your boss?
At first, I didnt want anyone at work to know any of my business....but after asking to leave work early so many times, I had to tell my boss because I was leaving work early so many times. She totally understood and I bring her a note everytime so she knows its legit (I am the one who said I would do this..she didnt ask me to do this).

Re: Have you told your boss?
I have gone through a bunch of different cycles and surprisingly have only had to take off of work maybe twice even with all the various tests and whatnot.
I am able to go for monitoring at 630am and still get to work on time.
The other appointments happened to either fall on vacations or weekends.
