Has anyone ever been happy & content at a weight?
I am looking at the post where we are posting old pics of ourselves and I see people saying things like:
"Would love to be back at this weight, even though I thought I was chubby then" or something like that.
And it made me think....even when I was my most fit I was STILL thinking "oh boy I need to get more toned"
Has anyone ever truly been happy with their weight and/or body?
I think I have, but then again there was/ is always SOMETHING to improve.
Even now, I try to appreciate my body bc although it is far from perfect, it is still good! One day I might be wishing to look like this, afterall

Re: Has anyone ever been happy & content at a weight?
I never have been, even when I was rail thin I was always thinking I could lose a couple more pounds.
I think NOW-I could be (not at this weight, of course )
If I could get back to a previous weight/size I think I could appreciate it more than I did when I was at that point before since I've experienced so much since then (different weights, two pregnancies, etc) if that makes sense?

Re: Has anyone ever been happy & content at a weight?
yes...when I met DH. I was 5 pounds heavier than HS (and I thought I needed to lose in HS), but I had lost 15 pounds and I felt really great. I did want to lose another 3 pounds, but it never really bothered me.

Yes. I was at my best about 4-6 years ago, and I felt great!

Yes, but only in recent years. I'd say my pre-30's were when I was the most off-base about my body image.

At 110Lbs size 2/4 I thought I had extra weight.
I was very happy with my body years later when I was a personal trainer. Very fit with lots of nice definition.

Re: Has anyone ever been happy & content at a weight?
Yes, when I was a junior and senior in high school. But I was not in good shape then, just thin by luck.
After gaining a bunch of weight in college and losing it before my wedding, I was about 5 lbs from that HS weight but in really excellent shape. That's probably when I was happiest with my body, though the weight could have been "lower."
Now I'm clawing my way back there.

Yep, same for me, I was happy then! I really see myself as I am. I know when I'm skinny - and I know when I still have a baby belly.

Re: Has anyone ever been happy & content at a weight?
Since I looked back at thinner, fitter pics of myself and am so mad at how I never appreciated my body then, I made a pact with myself.
I am going to love my body now. In 5, 10, 15 yrs - I know I will look back at it and wish that I did!

Re: Has anyone ever been happy & content at a weight?
YES I am now and have been for a while.
However, lately I have been struggling with consistently working out (I cannot do anything until close to 8:30 at night when kids are asleep and I just do workouts in my living room...unless I wake up at 5 am to workout and risk waking them up LOL). I worry about putting weight back on because I tend to put on weight quickly and I like to eat!
So I guess you're right there's always something to change!

Re: Has anyone ever been happy & content at a weight?
Yes, I had a point in my life where I was very happy with my weight, but I hadn't even focused on my weight to get there, I was focusing on being fit! It was just a great benefit that I was thinner. I have been motivating myself again to be fit just to have the energy and stamina I once had, and maybe the body will come.

Re: Has anyone ever been happy & content at a weight?
Not since I was in HS and doing sports (swimming & track) praticing 2 hrs/day - 6days/wk I was real happy. I was able to eat whatever I wanted and not worry about my weight. If I gained weight over the summer, I would lose it all within a fews weeks of going back to school and swimming.
I stopped doing sports My senior year for a number of reasons. Yet I continued to eat as if I was still in sports. I actually had stopped doing any type of exercise completely. I never thought to exercise on my own. I got a part time and went to school.
Its funny because we just moved and while I was packing and going through old stuff I found letters I that I used to write to DH in class. In the letters I used to tell him how disgusted I was with myself that I had gained weight and that I was gonig to do all these things to lose the weight. I showed them to DH and he just shook his head and said "you haven't changed one bit"
The sad part is that in the 9 yrs I have been with DH I have done nothing but GAIN weight. Every year I would say I want to lose weight. Then the year would end and I gained 10 lbs. When I started WW lst year I needed to lose about 80lbs. I had been GAINing 10lbs every year since I met DH. I was SO disgusted with the number on that scale.
When I joined WW (7 months PP) my goal was to lose all the weight in 1 yr. That year has passed and I have only lost 20lbs. Again I am disgusted with myself because I did NOT commit to losing the weight like I should have. BUT I am happy that I atleast lost some and didn't gain again!

Re: Has anyone ever been happy & content at a weight?
no
i remember when i hit 100 pounds and thought 'okay, now i need to get to 99'
i'd lost 20% of my body weight, stopped getting my period, was losing hair, was essentially a walking skeleton -
i've been every weight from 99 to 127 pounds.
last time i weighed myself, i was 117. i got off the scale thinking 'i should probably lose 5 more...'
the cycle never ends. i do hope that when i reach 110 again that i'll like what i see in the mirror.
i envy people who know their 'happy' weight.

Re: Has anyone ever been happy & content at a weight?
Thinking back to HS and college I was very comfortable with my weight and my body. I was very athletic, in sports and karate and in college was a gym rat.
Ironically only after college when I started working was when I started gaining weight and than obviously after having 2 kids.
Am I comfortable at my weight now? Not really, but I dont beat myself up about it. I had two kids in 4 years...I was and still am the last person I take care of in my house. But I am at the point where I am going to start thinking about myself and taking care of myself once again. I came to the realization that just because I am a mother doesnt mean I need to put myself on the back burner.
ETA: My goal weight is not what I was in HS and college...to me that is unrealistic and I was way too skinny. But I would like to lokse 30 lbs. (I would even take 25 lbs.) and I would be very happy and comfortable wtih my body again.
To me it's not a number...it's being healthy and taking care of yourself.
