Taco Salad
1 lb ground beef Grated cheddar cheese (1 package) Lettuce – shredded – I don’t use that much just enough to add flavor 1 jar of salsa 1 bottle of Catalina dressing Tortilla chips
Do not mix the ingredients until you are at the event you are serving!
Brown ground beef and store in tupperware until ready to use.
In a large bowl, combine ground beef, cheese, lettuce and salsa.
Crumble tortilla chips while still in bag. Combine the tortilla chips to the ground beef mixture and then gradually add catalina dressing. (Add dressing right before ready to serve so it doesm't get to soggy) When it’s reach a nice consistency, serve with chips or alone.
Broccoli Salad
Mix Night Before
2 cups mayo 2 tbls wine vinegar ¾ cups sugar
Salad
2 heads broccoli 1 ½ lbs sharp cheddar 1 ½ lbs bacon fried & crumbled 2 small red onions
Mix together and serve

Re: Need food Ideas for a Blockparty we are having
Were having a block party too and I was just talking about ideas for things to make that can be outside for a while.
I'm going to make a pasta with veggies salad (no cheese). Just boil pasta, cook frozen mixed veggies, mix together, add a can or two of olives and toss with olive oil, salt & pepper. Also going to make a "german" potato salad. Boil potatoes, peel and chop into chunks, I add roasted red peppers and toss with olive oil, S&P.
I'm also thinking of using sterno trays and instead of filling the bottom try with water and heating, I was going to put ice and then place the smaller trays of food on top to keep it cool.
I plan on making everything the day before and keep in the fridge so it's cold when I put it out.
