New and not sure just how much to share.
So after stalking for a week or so, I've finally decided to post something meaningful. I'm just not sure HOW personal to get. The lingo is sometimes confusing. How long does it take to get familair with it? I've got a TTC question but again, not sure just how much to get into. Any recommendations or comments would be greatly appreciated.
TIA Kimberly

Hello and welcome! You will pick up on the lingo quickly and you can always click on the lingo tab at the top or ask us. Don't feel shy...everyone on this board is very helpful. As far as getting personal, just post what you are comfortable with. There's no standard you need to follow. Good luck on your TTC journey!

Welcome! I think you should share however much you're comfortable with. It's different for everyone.
Don't worry about the lingo in a couple weeks you'll have it all down! And under the chat tab there is a link to the more commonly used acronyms.
Good luck!

Re: New and not sure just how much to share.
Well I went to my regular doctor to get weened off of some medications I was on. (I have PMDD and after a blood clot after knee surgery had to stop taking the pill) So we've been trying for the last 3 months but REALLY trying this past month. I'm wondering if it's a bad thing that we've been trying and I'm not totally weened off of these meds. I have an appt with my GYNO in two weeks. Can he do a pap if by some stroke of luck am Prego? Will he make me stop the meds cold turkey? I want to try to relax and enjoy but then I start thinking that there must be something I can do to help all of this work out just right. TIA Kimberly

I wish I had advice for you, but it sounds like you're in good hands with your doc. I did want to say that I'm excited for you and wish you the very best!!!!

Re: New and not sure just how much to share.
it really depends on the level of meds you are on and what they are for
if you are on meds for a blood clot, the Dr might have to keep you on them while your pregnant. but if its not something you NEED to stay healthy they may stop it cold turkey, but it really depends on what it does and how the meds can be stopped. it also depends on the Dr. my Dr is really stric and wants no meds 1 trimester unless its keeping you alive
You can still have a pap when pregnant
You didn't mention that you are taking any prenatal vitamins. If your not, you should be. You can take the over the counter ones, just make sure they have 100% of the folic acid per day. Folic acid is really important (I guess maybe call your Dr first since you take other meds)

Thanks Heather
I've got to watch my vitamin K, so I'm going to have to be really careful which pre-natal vitamins (bet I could have abbreviated that) I take.
I'm Factor Five positive which means I have sludgy blood (thanks dad), hence watching Vit K. That means limited amounts of green leafy and cranberries. There is a more extensive list that I'm going to have to look up because I want to get my levels under control with as little coumadin as possible. I figure a smaller dosage is better if I HAVE to take it.
I'm actually crampy right now but I refuse to go to the bathroom to check for AF. I'm in denial and want a BFP.
