Taking So Much Medication....

I was on 5mg of femara and taking gonal-f injectables of 150 and all I have is one egg that is 23. I know its good to have one egg that is mature, but I was expecting more eggs...maybe 4.... I dont get how Im on all this medication and Im not getting any more eggs. My left side had nothing....

Anyone else on a ton of medication and not get many eggs or anyone know why this is happening? Am I just not responding well to the gonal-f?

I think gonal-f is to suppress you so you dont ovulate before the dr wants you to, no?

i think you are thinking of ganiralex. thats the one that suppresses ovulation i believe.

as far as eggs its quality of quantity in my opinion.

i usually do 2.5 or 5mg femara with 75ius of follistim. i almost always get only 2 eggs out of it. they usually only end up getting to 19 or 20 before trigger also, so one at 23 sounds great to me! ive gotten pregnant the two cycles that i ended up with 2 eggs, but they both ended in chemicals.

my first cycle i hyperstimmed and had like 10 eggs and mild OHSS. switching to IVF wasnt an option for us so i ended up having to do BCP to get rid of them. it was not fun. believe me, one good mature egg is all you need!!

also, 150ius isnt that bad. ive read stories of women taking upwards of 225ius and still not producing many eggs. we are all different chemical makeups so it takes us all different levels of the meds to get us to make eggs. i wouldnt be concerned as long as you are making at least one good mature one!! good luck!!

First off, all you need is one.
I was on the same exact protocol for three cycles and got 1 egg, 4 eggs, and then 1, in that order, so you never know how your body will respond to the same meds each month, it really is a crap shoot. Either way I wish you the best of luck! Remember its QUALITY, not quantity!!!

Take a look at the link... I had the same problem this cycle and was very depressed over it.... I ended up producing only 2 eggs...
In addition to the meds posted on the list I also had Ganirelix and Luveris, I was doing 3 injections on my tummy each night Dr B said that if I don't get pregnant this cycle we can get even more aggresive next cycle to get more eggs out of me.... But it really does only take one egg, it's quality that matters and not quantity. Quantity matters in the sense that you can get a wider selection of eggs. But one good egg is more than enough
