A little discouraged

So Ive been working my @ss off for a little over a month now, Ive lost 10lbs on WW and I just feel like my body looks EXACTLY the same. Its really starting to discourage me. Im trying really hard to keep it up bc I know EVENTUALLY it has to pay off. But a month later and NO visible difference in the post baby (3 years later, but I call it post baby bc I didnt have it before) stomach.

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR! Ugh!

Just needed to vent. Any words of wisdom? When you started losing weight and exercising how long before you visibly saw results?

(Just FYI - I had about 25lbs to lose, I have about 15 to go)

Re: A little discouraged

Are you eating enough?

Are you doing too much too fast?

Are you sleeping enough?

Re: A little discouraged

Im using exactly all of my points every day on WW.

I dont think or at least feel, like Im doing more than I can handle.

And Im getting plenty of sleep.

Its showing on the scale, just not visibly and its starting to P!SS me off Chat Icon

So perplexed.

Re: A little discouraged

It will come! Especially if the scale is coming down.

But your body may lose in some areas you might not want it to do first.

I find that the part that you want to shrink is usually the last one to do so.... just to despise us!!!!

Re: A little discouraged

Can you not visibly see the difference or are clothes not looser? Cause 10lbs is a dress size so if the scale has moved then there has to be results.....it just might not be in the location you want it to be.

Women tend to lose weight in the middle last so keep going....it will come off.

Clothes are looser, definitely havent gone down a pants size though, but they arent cutting off circulation to my head anymore, LOL.

I visibly dont see a difference anywhere though. Im going to keep at it, but so help me if another month from now I dont see anything, I may flip out Chat Icon

Re: A little discouraged

I've lost 15lbs, it wasn't until recently that I actually noticed. People were noticing I didn't see it. Then I started to see the difference in my clothes so I now take pictures every couple of weeks in the same pair of shorts and sports bra to see the difference.

Also like a PP said the middle is usually the last part to shrink.

I know it isn't easy, but don't get discouraged and just keep doing what you're doing. Healthy weight loss is 1-2lbs a week, so you're doing great.

Re: A little discouraged

I don't remember off-hand, but are you doing weight training at all? I originally lost 25 lbs on WW, then I finally lost the rest once I got a personal trainer. Once I learned how to use the equipment and all the different exercises needed, the inches FLEW off me. I'll never forget it. It was the best damn feeling in the world. I went from an 8 (or was I a 6?) to a 4 in like the blink of an eye. It's all about working each muscle group to fatigue and building the muscle to burn the fat.

I truly believe weights produce the best results! And keep up the kickboxing...it's great for toning, but cardio is of course SO important. You're doing great, keep it up!! Chat Icon

Now if only I could get back into it...I wonder if I'm just stuck at the old lady, post baby metabolism and won't get it back.Chat Icon

Not really, the kickboxing class does involve about 10 minutes of hand weights but thats about it.

I have the kickboxing two days a week, yoga one day and running 3 days, with an ab DVD 3 days.

Re: A little discouraged

Mom begs to differ. She said she totally noticed the other day and I agreed.

Are you doing arms & abs? You want to be more tone?

ETA- ask marci for ideas

I dont care about my arms or legs, just my abs.

Ive definitely lost weight, the scale shows it, but my shape is the same, my stomach (under my clothes)looks EXACTLY the same.

Re: A little discouraged

You know I know exactly how you feel. I lost 14 lbs to date and I still don't see a damn difference in my body. I am also getting discouraged. I can't workout any more than I do. There just isn't enough time. I am dreading that I need to be in a bathing suit when we go away the first week in August.

I technically only have 10lbs left to lose to get to a weight I am happy with. I know those 10lbs are in my gut, so I'm praying that it does go down. Chat Icon

Same for me. That baby weight just tends to come off differently than those pounds had come off before baby.
