your favorite wine
recommend your favorite wine?
i used to be a white wine girl (a nice New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc) - mainly because i was not red wine experienced but my red wine taste is growing and im looking for a few good bottles, reasonably priced

I used to be a white girl too--but now really love red.
I love Il Ducale by Ruffino it is @ 16 for a bottle.
Also, Yellowtale Shiraz is really good.

Mostly I'm a California Cab girl but I've grown to love Chateuneuf du Pape and some Meritages.
Estancia makes a nice meritage for around $25. Really yummy. Go into the wine store and ask about blends. Anything with cabernet franc is very smooth and rich.
Chateuneuf du pape is a bit pricey but worth it. It's from the Rhone region of France so really any wine from that region is worth a try.
My ultimate favorite wine on the planet is Sequoia Grove Cab and cabernet franc. Hard to find in stores but you can become a wine club member and get this stuff delivered to you!

Some of our favorite red wines
- Joel Gott Cabernet Sauvignon 2007
- Ruffino Ducale Chianti & on special occasions the gold label
- Louis Martini Cabernet Sauvignon 2006
- Cakebread Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon 2006 (these are pricey & we only drink a bottle on special occasions but they are so good & worth the $$ IMO)
- Chateau Charmail Haut-Medoc 2004 which is a blend of Merot, Cabernet Sauvignon & Cabernet Franc

My new FAVORITE red is Menage a Trois. It is fantastic and I can get it for under $10. Besides, it is fun to ask for in the liquor store

not white zin, it is a red zin

I agree!
also, the only shiraz i LOVE is rosemount shiraz.
valpolicella is a good inexpensive wine that they sell in a big FAT bottle...

I'm not a huge red fan but something about Yellowtail Shiraz/Grenache...spicy and then fruity...makes my mouth very happy and encourages my brain to want to drink the whole bottle
