I just wanted to introduce myself and share my brief story. My DH and I recently got married, and we are both 27. I was diagnosed with PCOS at 18. They gave me a prescription for BC and sent me on my way, and I've basically been on BC ever since. About six months ago I went off the pill to see if I would ovulate on my own. I temped and tried vitex and other supplements, but my pcos symptoms came back with full force. I went back on the pill until the wedding. I am lucky that I've never had weight issues, but I do have issues with acne and I usually do not ovulate on my own. My LH:FSH ratio is about 3:1. DH and I know this might be a long road for us, so we decided to see Dr. B right away. I am hoping that we only have to deal with the PCOS, but I know there might be other issues to contend with. So, we met with Dr. B today and I am hopeful that we will be pregnant somewhat soon. We talked about our plan of action and I feel ready for the journey.
I've been lurking for a while now and reading all of your stories. I truly wish all of you the best. I feel like I've been cheering you all on and lots of babydust for all of us!
I was diagnosed with PCOS at 15 and was on the pill for 10 years. I was off the pill only 3 months (hoping I would have somehow grown out of the PCOS symptoms and just O on my own.... but that never happened) ... So, I saw Dr.B at that point. He gave me provera to bring on AF and 3 medicated IUI cycles later, I got a BFP!
I totally agree with the idea of not wasting time if you KNOW there is a problem. No sense in sitting on your hands unnecessarily! Good luck!!!!!!! He is a great man and a terrific doctor!
