Do you think that this price is okay for this rental?
I've posted a few times about the problems that we are having with our apartment. We only have lived here for 5 months and have to move again because our landlord is pretty much the devil lol. So we were taken to see two house rentals yesterday, the second was yuck but the first, I fell hard for lol. It's on the water we would have dock rights next season as this season has already been rented out, has a one car garage with workshop, cute little yard, technically a 2 bedroom but they have been using the dining room/den area as a 3rd bedroom, granny attic, hardwood floors, galley kitchen, washer and dryer (2yrs old). Clean, its from the 20's (I LOVE old houses) so it has beefy molding all throughout that has never been painted with solid wood doors and crystal knobs, small screened in front porch. landscaping included
its 1800 a month + utilities (gas, lipa, cable)
gas is on a budget plan, comes to 90 a month
right now, we are on the second floor of a two family in an 1880's house with a front porch on the water. we dont have use of the yard. we have 2 bedrooms and the entire attic for storage space (its a huge attic) our apartment is in terrible condition, instead of repairing the plaster in our hallway they just screwed in these boards over it... it looks horrible. needs a paint job so bad, looks like someone had a bathroom accident all over i tried scrubbing with bleach and sponge and it didnt work. carpet is stained all over, ants, 3 girls in their late 20's below us have parties all the time, mold in the bathroom, etc.
we pay 1500 a month + gas which runs around 50-60 in the warm months and about 350 in the winter!
so my question is... do you think that this new place is a good deal? I'm in love with it, and it would be a whole house which is perfect because we are expecting our first in less than 2 months so we'd have a place all our own

Sounds perfect. It never hurts to negotiate though. maybe tell them you will take care of the property for 150 off the rent or something.

that's what DH said. he mows the front lawn where we are now and even uses the weed wacker for perfect edges lol. im sure they would be saving a lot on landscaping bills by having DH do it and could take off a little each month

WE GOT THE PLACE!! YAY THEY PICKED US! I'm so excited that my son is going to have a yard to play in and no more noisy girls living below us throwing house parties!!

That sounds like a fantastic price for a whole house!
and great idea to offer to have your DH do the landscaping to see if you can get $$ off the rent (especially if he does it anyway)
