I am so flipping mad right now!!!
DH bought three new a/c units for the bedrooms and PC Richards sold him the wrong size  So the installer could not put them in, we need totally different units or we are going to have to pay extra to have the wall sleeves closed in Argh!! We have been without A/C in the bedrooms for almost a week, I am ready to rip someone's head off

Did you measure for the new ones? You have to measure the inside of the unit top and bottom... I just had one installed yesterday from them and went it too a crap on Sunday, I called them and asked how to measure...

who measured for them? if PC richard did it, they will take them back.
If not try and call them and see what they will do for you. in general, their customer service is usually very good

DH measured, and I did too, our measurements matched.
I spoke with the salesman. He KNEW they were the wrong size, but said it should be fine because the units were within an inch of each other. NO they are NOT. There is a 1.5 inch difference. He said he told my DH it *should* be close enough. I asked if when he told DH this, did he also tell him that the installers would want an extra $75 per unit to make the wall holes smaller? He said no  Of course you didn't.
A manager is looking into this for me. The salesperson said they don't sell a bigger unit  so this was our only option.

Whoa, what PC Richard did you got to? I went to the one in Middle Island and the unit we just got is a monster !!! It replaced a unit that was there for 31 years. The old unit was 18h but 26w. This one comes in at like 17 something and 25 something... less than an inch on both sides. Sounds like the sales rep has no clue w this information. Tell them to refund you every thing and go to another one. I can rec the guy we worked with, he was awesome !

We went to the one in E. Northport (Elwood).
I don't even care about paying more for a model that fits. Just sell me the right one! And if they don't have it and won't give me all my money back I will be down there with my arse-kicking boots on.

ugh that stinks. I hope it works out. They should have done it right the first time !!!

I'd have killed him Glad they are in!
Small update on us: We are having an outside contractor come take a look to see how much it would be to install them properly. If he can, PC Richards told us that they will refund the cost of the install (which was around $135 per unit).
Hopefully we will have AC tonight  Or we'll all be sleeping in the living room!
