"Out", though never fully was in...and a question

So today is CD 26, and I am starting to spot faint pink, so I'm pretty sure that means no oopsies for us this month. I'm pretty sure I O-ed around CD10 because I had a lot of cramps and some sharp pains then, although I never had EWCM this month which I usually do, and also was the last day we BDed unprotected (well, besides last night Chat Icon ), so I thought maybe there was a chance. Oddly, I'm a little disappointed, although we're not really trying, and it would be a very bad time for us with me starting a new job soon.

But that being said, and I know I mentioned this once before but didn't get much response, last month was a 26 day cycle, and it looks like this month will be too, unless the spotting stops for a few days, which sometimes it does for me anyways. This really only happens to me in the warmer months, like May-August. The rest of the year, I'm usually around 28 days perfect, sometimes 27 or 29, rarely over 29, and the odd freakish 24 or 25 days maybe one month every year to year and a half.

Is it possible in the least that warmer weather would affect your cycle length? Now that I'm getting older and TTC is in our near future, I'm paranoid that every little nuance means something bad for us. Chat Icon

What causes a menstrual cycle to change?

Darkness may be one of the biggest reasons menstrual cycles become irregular. Women who live near the equator or in sunny regions are more fertile and have stronger and more regular menstrual patterns than women who live in northern regions or spend more time indoors. Also, menstrual cycles during the darker winter months are longer than in the summer.

Irregularity may also be caused by stress, too much exercise, illness or weight problems. Low body weight can prevent ovulation because the body needs a minimum amount of body fat. Being overweight is linked to irregular cycles and heavy bleeding. Because of health concerns, you should consult with your doctor if you experience irregular menstrual cycles.

I found the above here

Also, just want to add that if you are only spotting light pink, you may not be out! Light pink spotting could also be a sign of implantation. I wouldn't count yourself out until AF shows up full force! Good luck and I hope the above helps somewhat. If you really have strong concerns, I would talk to your GYN. Chat Icon Chat Icon

Thank you for posting that, that really does make me feel a little better that the summer does legitimately cause shorter cycles. I knew it couldn't be just a coincidence that this only happens like May-August. Chat Icon

I think there's somethign with the length of days or daylight that could affect your cycle. IDK about the seasons.

I thought I read somewhere that at one time LONG LONG LONG ago every woman's cycle was in tune and dominated by the light of the moon. I sound like a lunatic right now so I'm going to stop. But that's why I didn't say anything last time you posted. I started thinking I was nuts... even though I swear I've read that.

Girl you aren't out until "that little pink spotting" is full fledged! Chat Icon Chat Icon

I think its normal for cycles to fluctuate by a few days...

When I came off BC in Jan, here's what my cycles were like:

Jan: 27 days
Feb: 25 days
March: 21 days!! Chat Icon Chat Icon
Mid March-Mid April : 27 days
Mid April-Mid May: 27 days
Mid May-June-knocked up! lol

My fluctuation was probably bc of BCP's..

I think as long as you pay attention to your cycle you're fine..if you notice a pattern longer than a month or 2, call your doctor.
