SOOO overwhelmed

Went up to the new house today to meet with contractors and such.

1 closet guy, 1 floor guy and 2 contractors-- one right after another, telling me all my simple projects were more complicated than I thought.

My head is spinning. I can't wait to get the estimates so I can just know what we can and can't do...and if we can get it done in time to move in. We've already ruled out the hall bath, and we are going to shelve it until we can just do the whole damn thing.

So now it's floors, electrical work, trims/molding, some minor work to the master bath and paint-- and some other odds and ends.

Calgon, take me away....

Is it stressful once the work is underway?

Re: SOOO overwhelmed

I lived with contractors in my house for the first 3 months of my son's life! Coming and going, saws and machinery running all day long, men peeing in my toilets...It gets worse before it gets better. And EVERYTHING takes longer than they say it will! And when they say they'll be there at 7AM, and you get you and your baby up and ready, then they show up at 10AM.Chat Icon

I give you credit for doing it with a newborn.

We are *hoping* to get it all done before we move in. We are fortunate that we can close on the house before we close on our apt. I hope it can all be done in 3 weeks!!

Major issue is that the house is an hour away from where I live now!

I'll be doing it with a newborn too. Frankly, I am wondering how I can keep my pregnant azz from popping a Xanax. good thing I know too much about drug abuse during pregnancy or I'd be in a hell of a lot of trouble.
