UPDATE 6/9... When will it end??
Update on 6/9:
Maybe the LIF Gods heard my prayer/stress and it helped?? LOL.
We got a call today stating that our file is in it's final review.
This is the last stage, that was their words.
Everything has been given the OK so far and we should have our clear to close on Friday or Monday.
Then, we should be able to close on Tuesday or Wednesday.
Does this sound normal??

Still not closed.
Six months later.
SIX MONTHS since we went to contract.
Two extensions later - thank God for a patient seller.
We are just a few days away but still - I've heard this before! But this time they assure me. The banks are 'overwhelmed' with files and that is why we are all approved, have the commitment, etc. and everything is in - ready to go - but we are just waiting on the bank to push it through.
Did anyone else have this nightmare take THIS long?!

yes!!!!! it was 4 1/2 months for us and i felt like every other day was a new problem

We waited a year and a half for our home. (sellers fault, not bank). It WILL be worth the wait!!!

We did not wait as long as you did, but we did go down to the wire and just got our commitment letter yesterday, one day short of the 45 days we had from contract. The lender dragged its butt. Now we are pretty much at the mercy of the attorneys to get us a date before the 30th. Hang in there. Fingers crossed for you!

Yes, everyone is really coming down the the wire here. I really wonder HOW they are going to be able to handle all this volume before the 6/30 deadline. My REA said he worries about lawsuits and other issues stemming from this.

EVERYONE on both sides have a vested interest in getting this all done ASAP. However, our attorney is strictly a real estate attorney so I am sure we are not his only client in the crunch. As far as the sellers go, I'm willing to bet it is the same case. I feel like I am on pins and needles.

sounds normal to me, when you get the clear to close it usually happens within a few days if both attorneys and buyer and seller are available to close on that day

while that sounds VERY normal....that's also the best case
be prepared that they might need something else- which will add about another 10 days to that time frame
is everything done on your end- survey, insurace, title etc
I just had a survey not being ordered cause a delay- they used a family friend - not a real estate attorney

Beth is 100% right on this one. Check, double check and TRIPLE CHECK that you have ALL documents in order. If you think they will have all of the copies with them, asssume lawyers, bankers and anyone else are morons and they have NOTHING. Bring a copy of anything they have already you for with you.
We JUST got our clear to close today after my last post and there is STILL one more thing we need to settle BEFORE closing.

Thanks everyone!
We got the clear to close LATE today.
So, they told us that we might as well just act like it is Monday lol. Nothing is easy haha.
But I'm just glad we have it. We had to get them yet ANOTHER copy of our social security cards AGAIN lol for the third time and that was it. Then, today, they called back and said we have the green light.
They said that on Monday we can start to schedule everyone -- for us and for everyone else we are thinking Thursday morning. That is the day we have available that everyone else should be able to make.
Fingers crossed.
