Does Anyone Else
Post their Dinner Menu for the family to see?
I do it almost every morning - I come up with some nice descriptive wording and post the menu on the fridge before I leave in the morning. It usually stops them from asking "What's for dinner???" the second I walk in the door. And if I make it sound appetizing enough they don't go "Ugh! Chicken AGAIN??"
Anyone else do this or am I the only freak?

No, but now I want to! I did however, post a type written menu when I hosted Mother's Day brunch this year. Dh thought I was insane.

This is what I do. I have a template on my computer and I just come up with some descriptions of what we are having and type it out:
Dry aged porterhouse steak dressed in house seasoning and seared until fork tender. Accompanied by
Specially prepared potatoes roasted with rosemary until crisp and fragrant outside
in season asparagus sauteed with olive oil and garlic - topped with carmalized onions
Thick wedges of fresh tomatoes with a hint of sea salt and basil.
Choice of beverage: 1% Milk, Still Water, Apple Juice or Barefoot Merlot
Rob thinks I'm nuts.. but I know he likes it!

Everyday at around 8 am my husband asks me whats for dinner!!! How annoying.
Where can I get one of those boards? It would be such a great help in meal planning and shopping!!! I love it!

I make it SOUND better on the menu than it is.. that way I'm less likely to get complaints or snitty looks from Rob. He might catch a snit if I say "Fried steak, potatoes, asparagus and chunks of tomato for supper.."

I like the idea of a chalkboard.......
I just put a handwritten note on the fridge, more to remind me when I get home from work what I was going to make for dinner, and to remind me in the morning what needs to be taken out of the freezer to defrost.
Mike thinks I'm nuts, to the contrary it keeps me quite sane.
The weekly menu posts here got me started. It really is a great idea.

You need to write menus for a living! Everything sounds so delicious!!!!
I leave a little * at the bottom of each day that tells DH what to take out of the freezer or purchase at the market that day too

Seriously I feel so incompetent. I would put a menu up on my dry erase board but the last weeks menu is from April. DH would ask what we would having as he never looked at the board.

I do this, but no way as fancy as yours!!! I actually put the menu for the week up on the fridge! And it's written exactly how it is on here in my post!!!

I don't write it up, but we discuss the weekly menus at dinner on Friday night. The DC have input and we plan meals based on who has what going on on a particular night. I don't write it up because they never forget what we're having for dinner, but they will forget to put their laundry away.
