OB/GYN Recommendations
Okay, so I'm totally not TTC-ing yet but thought this was the appropriate board to crash!
I've been a patient of Dr. Hanauer's for years. I called today because I new my 6 month appointment should be any day now. Well, I was rudely told that I missed my 5/27 appointment. I was never called or anything. My Blackberry crashed last year and I lost all my appointments. Okay, my fault, whatever....
I now live in the Islip area and her office (Garden City) is a bit of a hike. The rude response from the receptionist ****** me off a bit. Perhaps I need a new doctor closer to home. Any recommendations? I loved Dr. Hanauer but maybe she's too far away, especially when we are TTC or I'm pregnant.
Thoughts? Recommendations?
TIA!

I used to see Dr.Gary Kasten in I believe it's Holbrook. He is awesome, the only reason I stopped going there was it was a hike for me from Bethpage.

Re: OB/GYN Recommendations
Thanks!
I know it's silly but if I do switch, I want it to be a good doctor affiliated with a good hospital.
I <3 Hanauer but the office waits and the fact that the office is now 35 min away concerns me a bit.
We plan to TTC in 6-12 months (hopefully, maybe)....I'm sitting here searching through Southside, Good Sam, Stony Brook, Winthrop reviews and losing my mind!!!!!!

Re: OB/GYN Recommendations
I use Kristi Egner. She is on Union Blvd about a hop, skip and a jump east of Saxon Avenue. She delivers at Good Sam and Southside. From reading hospital reviews...I prefer Southside to Good Sam when it comes to having a baby. She is a really great Dr....very easy to talk to.

Going through the hospital reviews is torture! Just keep in mind that there are always going to be some people who are never happy and write a bad review.
Oh and Dr. Kasten is affiliated with Southside. My SIL delivered there with him and was very pleased with herexperience.
