Beautiful area, schools are spectacular. One of the best districts on LI, IMO.

Re: Dix Hills and Half Hollow Hills SD
I grew up in a neighboring town... some of my friends went there.
Great schools, a lot of 'keeping up with the Joneses', but I mean - it always seems like there's Westinghouse and Intel scholars from there - if my hubs was down I def would have purchased Deer Park zip code, HHH schools.
Nothing but great things about it!

Re: Dix Hills and Half Hollow Hills SD
I went to high school there - graduated in '99 and back then it was a great district and wonderful teachers. I went to Hills West which is smaller than High School East. I had a lot of turmoil in my home life growing up and I'll always remember what the teachers and adminstrators there did for me. They were very supportive...
As a sidenote - it borders Wyandanch so there were ALOT of people who dropped there kids off at the bus stops in wheatley heights who didn't live in the district so their kids could attend the better schools - Just an FYI

I guess they lied about their addresses - I had a couple of friends who got driven to the bus stop, one day we had to give some of them a ride home and they lived in the heart of Wyandanch - def not within the school district lines...

Re: Dix Hills and Half Hollow Hills SD
THere are DEF kids bussed in from Wyandanch to both HHE and HHW...not sure how, but there are. I dated a guy from there in high school and I went to their prom too
I WISH I went there!
The people I bought my house from moved to that district too and they're very happy.
