Dr Kofinas
Does anyone know if he takes GHI?
Im about to be released from Dr B and Im trying to decide between seeing Dr Bergman (whom Dr B recommended) or seeing Dr Kofinas whom I hear about all the time on this site.
Thoughts? TIA!!

Are you looking for an OBGYN/obstetrician? Dr Bergman is not with Preffered Women's Health anymore (if that's the Bergman that you are talking about). I tried to make an appointment with him but they told me that he's not practicing anymore and that he's a consultant now ...

I dont know much about him but thats the same guy. He runs Madonna now. I think hes a high risk OB? I need either a peri or a high risk dr. I have an OB whom I love but Dr B thinks I really need to be monitored by more then just a regular OB. I kind of dont know what to do

I don't think that Dr. Kofinas is in-network for any insurance (but I could be wrong, I know he was out of network with me). He is a peri and he doesn't deliver so you would need to be with a regular ob as well as him. He is wonderful though and I highly recommend him!!

I agree- I went to Dr. Kofinas as well.
He only takes out-of-network insurance- so if your plan doesn't have out-of-network you can't see him

If you call his office the girls will check on your insurance for you and let you know what you have that they accept and then you can see if it works for you.

I *think* as long as you have out-of-network benefits he takes them but as PP said the admins will check...
I know with my out of network there wasn't a copy- but they covered 60/40- but Kofinas wrote off the 40%
Keep in mind Kofinas isn't an OB... just a peri- so you'll still need to see an OB as well.

I have the Empire Plan, and had to pay Dr Kofinas my deductable, then only copays at each visit.

I have GHI with Kofinas. He does take it, the only difference is that the checks come to my house and I endorse them over to him. My copay is $30 each time ($15 for bloodwork/$15 for sono)

Yeah, its tough. Im having a hard time letting go. I saw my OB for the first time yesterday so that made me feel a little better but still, leaving Dr B makes me nervous. I think this Wed will be my last appt with him
