Need advice on my RE journey
I'm kinda confused and frustrated right now on what to do.
So about a year ago I saw an RE Dr. Palter, to get a uterine polyp removed. I read he was a great surgeon. But before surgery I got pregnant... only to miscarry, had a D&C, but had left over placenta, which resulted in a hysteroscopy anyways from Palter to get it removed. So in Oct. we got the green light to TTC. 7 months later no success.
So we go back and he has begun our series of tests... bloodwork, hsg, shg. So he does my HSG, and I end up with a pelvic infection instead! At first I felt like he was hesitant to blame the HSG and kept insisting how *rare* that is... but hellloo?? fever, chills, pelvic pain. so he sent me to the ER to get an antibiotic shot that is practically costing me $1k outta pocket now, so I'm pretty ticked about that too.
He says my right tube may be partially blocked and maybe thats what caused the infection. But he has to look at the films to see if it is scar tissue. So I'm a bit confused on how that tube is partially blocked, since that is the side I ovulated on when I got pregnant last year.
Anyways.... I can't say he is a bad Doc and his office staff is always nice, but yet I feel like nothing is going right with him... from miscarriage, to left over placenta to pelvic infection. I know none of this is his fault (except maybe he coulda sent me to a clinic for my shot to save me some $$ though). But I just feel like my luck with him is no good.
So I'm frustrated. I still have an SHG to do and in ways I feel like I don't even want to go back anymore. But I'm not sure if hubby and I should just complete our tests with him, get his results and then see another RE?
But if I see another RE, then I have to go thru ALL these exams again? Although I am a lil worried whether the pelvic infection caused more damage?
Looks like Dr. J Braverman and Dr. P Chung are pretty popular here.
I'm in Nassau Cty area so either doc location wise is ok, although I think if I see Chung, I will be affiliated with NYC hospitals now? Not sure if that makes a major difference besides pain in the butt traffic.
And with these REs who does the exams like HSG, and SHG. Palter always did all his himself which was kinda nice and convenient.
And what if I need some sort of surgery again for scar tissue or something. Do these REs do surgeries well? As a plus, I do trust Palter as a surgeon.
Anyways... just kinda wanted to vent too and see if anyone had any advice on how I should stick out this journey. Finish with Palter or move on?
Thanks!!!

Re: Need advice on my RE journey
I would absolutely make consult appointments with other drs and explain your situation. Im sure that you can get your files so the new dr might not have to do the same tests if they can look at your results.
You need to be confomrtable with your RE. I would make the switch now!

ITA!!!!!!!! You need to have complete confidence in any doctor. Be it a GP or an RE. Good lucke with whom ever you choose.
