Ok I have a strange question...
All the books I read say that sperm can live inside a woman's body for a few days.
Now, where exactly is this sperm living in me??? Do the sperm hang out in the fallopian tubes waiting for an egg or are they somewhere else??
I really should have paid attention more in biology class!

Re: Ok I have a strange question...
It actually takes them quite a bit of time to make it from the vagina up to the fallopian tubes where they will hopefully fertilize the egg. So most of the time they are travelling!
There was a special on national geographic I believe that was called "Sizing Up Sperm". If you can find in online or on demand to watch I would, it was really helpful.

wow really? I will have to find that video. Thanks!
I feel like I need to know EVERYTHING about the whole process now that I am going through it. I always thought it happened as quickly as it does on the beginning of "Look Who's Talking"

Go to the National Geographic site. I think the special is airing this week again. Can't remember the day though.
Ooops. I had the wrong channel.

Sizing up Sperm was such a great show. It was pretty funny too ... but DH & I learned a lot watching it. With everything sperm have to endure, it's amazing anyone gets pregnant.
Out of the 5million sperm or so released, only 2-3 make it tothe fallopian tube. It's amazing.

Good Luck!
