I would wait to test again and call the Drs before beginning the bc pills just to be safe. Drs offices often scew up so you never know.

Yes- you should definitely wait until AF shows to start the pill. Whether or not there is a chance of pregnancy, you should start on the day your period starts.
It is possible that you ovulated late and were too early for the pregnancy test to be positive when you were at the dr. I would test again.

You shouldnt take the pill until you get AF so you still have to wait it out either way.
If you still dont get your period in a couple of days....can you ask your doctor to do a blood test to check for your beta?

Its definitely possible the test could have been wrong.
Based on what I've read, sometimes that pregnancy hormone doesn't show up until 2-3 weeks after your period is due. Pregnancy tests only detect that hormone. That's why they usually say not to test till AF is late, sometimes you don't find out till your like 6 weeks!
I would hold off on the BCP till AF gets here.
