IVF, where would you go?
I see Dr. B, but he said IVF is done at AF in the city and NOT by him. It could be any doctor their preforming and i really don't have much say in it!? I am not liking one of the doctors there and to be honest that office in general makes me a little "concerned". There is a lot of $ and way too much is at stake now. I feel like i need to be 100% sure before moving forward. I am looking for anyone to share their IVF experience and wisdom with me.
For those who feel more comfortable sharing their opinions, please FM me.

Re: Cornell/RMA/Braverman
I had an ER and ET there. My personal experience was fine.
I had no issues.
Dr. Husami did my ER and Dr. Karpenko did my ET.
Pardon me if I mispelled the names.

Re: Cornell/RMA/Braverman
Stay AWAY from RMA!!! they told me to adopt and that there was no hope for me...do a search on ivfconnections.com and you will see the bad reviews!! girls run away from that place!!.
I went to Cornell and got pregnant on my first IVF (I lost the baby at 7 weeks)..we tried again and got pregnant with twins but lost one baby but delivered a healthy DC...we are currently TTC#2...they are the number #2 clinic in the country so theit stats speak for themselves...
I love Dr B (I consulted with him) but since we are dealing with severe MF he could not help us either (AFC has no capacity for severe MF) so we decided to stay at Cornell!

I also go to Cornell in the city and see Dr Chung!!! I have been so happy with him and the practice. I didn't need IVF, but if I needed it THEY WOULD be my # 1 pick. As the PP said they are the top clinic in the country and have great stats. There is another IVF graduate (karenk71) on this board who went to Dr Chung too and got pregnant her first time with IVF
I also had started my consult and initial testing with Dr B., who was wonderful but wasn't right for me. I have even referred family to him.
Feel free to FM with any questions.
I also have heard GREAT things about RMA, Dr. Copperman! I was initially deciding btwn RMA or Cornell, and ended up at Cornell. Either one you can't go wrong!

Re: Cornell/RMA/Braverman
I do IVF at Cornell. Who don't know who will be doing your ET or ER since whichever Doc is on call that day is the one you'll get. So even though you may have one particular Doc as your assigned RE, you may never see that person during your cycle.
I really liked Cornell. I got pregnant on my first IVF attempt back in December. I lost the twins at 17 weeks but plan on going back there when DH and I are ready.

Re: Cornell/RMA/Braverman
I was a patient at Cornell with Dr. Davis whom I love. They did not take my immune issues as seriously as I needed them to.
Ultimately I was able to get to retrieval and transfer with Dr. Braverman although I did not get pregnant.
Cornell's lab is one of the best but that doesn't mean that RMAs and AFS (Braverman's) are bad. Cornell has a much bigger rep.
It's a long shot that you would actually see your doctor during your ER or ET at a large clinic.
Personally, whoever gets me pregnant first wins no matter what.

Re: Cornell/RMA/Braverman
I went to RMA in the city the first time and saw Dr. Copperman. He was my primary contact but I was seen by other drs in the practice. I had a decent experience there and got pg pretty quickly.
When I went back, I saw Dr. Flisser in Garden City and my experience was awful. He called me at work four days after the initial consult and told me he didn't want to waste my time or his trying IUI or IVF. He said the only way he would work with me is if I did donor eggs. Needless to say, I wasn't thrilled with his approach.
I've also been to RSofNY and, while I found the staff, hours and location convenient, the drs were on different pages and couldn't seem to agree on the protocol.
Now, I'm with Dr B and I can't say enough good things about the experience. I am not thrilled about having to go into the city for the ER and transfer but it wasn't a deal breaker for me.

Re: Cornell/RMA/Braverman
Personally I think everyone has poistive and negatives for each place. I was in the same boat a few weeks ago. I was leaving LIVF and choosing between Braverman/Cornell and RMA I wanted to be close to work and ultimately a new plan. I went with Dr. Ruman at RMA whom I just felt most comfortable with!
So far so good!

Re: Cornell/RMA/Braverman
I personally loved RMA (and know of someone who did IVF at 3 places & liked RMA best). It's all in the personal experience. I got pregnant with them 1st shot at IVF (as did the friend who I am mentioning).
I think it's bordering on unreasonable to pick a place by the criteria that your primary MD will do ER and ET: the RE would have to work every day in order to be able to promise that (and IMO, the best MDs do NOT work every day: they have lives & families too).
MY RE happened to be on call the weekend that I had my retrieval & I had another very nice & I'm sure talented RE do my ET.
Good luck with who-ever you pick!

Re: Cornell/RMA/Braverman
I think it depends on your issues. Dr B is the only one who will diagnose and treat immune issues. If you have those I would stay with him. I did and ended up doing immune treatments through another Dr and my IVF with Dr Ruman and had healthy twin boys
