So, I went to Ethan Allen..
just to look at prices of furniture, and styles...
and..
I can't afford that. I've seen similar stuff at JCPenney's for half the cost.
Where else can I look, besides JCP, Macy's, and Pottery Barn?

Raymour and Flannigan always has stuff on sale. I don't know how much their stuff is or the quality but they do have a lot online which may help.

Ashley Furniture is great quality. I bought my coffee and side tables from Ashley but I got them at Peter Andrews for less! I also bought my trunk/coffee table for the den at Peter Andrews and that was Ashley too!
If you find anything you like at Ashley, go to Peter Andrews too for a price quote.

Re: So, I went to Ethan Allen..
Raymour & Flanagan has a clearance store on route 110, so you might want to give it a shot, and just limit yourself to the stores you'll find something you like (there's also Bob's over there, and I think they have "The Place" too?)

They have one in East Williston and then another on Jericho in Huntington. I believe there is another somewhere off of route 110 but I'm not 100% sure...
