Mothers Day QOTD
Happy Mothers Day!
Since we're all about to become mommies, it's natural that we think about the lessons we've learned growing up from our own Mommies and Daddies...
So my first QOTD is..........
What are some things you learned from your parents that you will be doing once you have LO's of your own?

Re: Mothers Day QOTD
Something I learned from my parents is to make sure you continue to put your marriage as a priority and not lose sight of that once you have kids.
My parents always had a weekly "date night" and took a 1 week vacation every year to re-focus on each other.
ALSO my parents were complete party-ers
Lets just say as a young kid I was woken up to blasting disco music very often. My parents were always boogying down, even at 9am on a Sunday.
As I got older it was pretty mortifying (especially when my friends would sleep over). But looking back I absolutely treasure all those crazy memories. And we'll definitely be having fun like that with our kids too.

Re: Mothers Day QOTD
I remember my dad had to work so much OT when we were growing up that he missed a lot of things going on...especially holidays.
I chose a profession and a job not too far from home so I wouldnt miss those things and hopefully DH wont either. I mean dad had to work to keep a roof over our head, I get that now but then it really hurt.
I do remember him taking off on Easter and taking me to an Isles v. Ranger game when I was younger. I was dying to go to an Isles v. Ranger game for the longest time and he got good seats too. When you come from a big family its a big deal for your dad to just take YOU one place which made it even better!
Even if DH and I have to work crazy hours, I hope that we have the sense to use a vacation day or even call in sick to do something special for our kids like my dad did with me that one Easter.

Unconditional love- I always felt so secure and loved growing up. I want our kids to have the same feeling.
