Should I be concerned?
I'm not yet TTC yet, but I think this is the best place to ask this question.
So I went to a gyno appointment a couple weeks ago. The dr did an ultrasound of my uterus. She said that I have a slightly heart shapped uterus. She asked if anyone had told me that before and i said no. She said it was fine and asked if I had any questions. I said no. It duidn't seem like a big deal or anything. So I kinda forgot about it. But last night I googled it. And I was seeing things on pregnancy boards about how it causes woman to not carry to full term and causes miscarriges. Anyone know anything about this?? We are not trying yet, but I want to in the next couple years. And was now curious if I should be worrying about this.

Re: Should I be concerned?
I would call the doctor and ask her advice.
As a fellow googling addict, we know knowledge = power.
But sometimes googling leads to a lot of anxiety and possible self diagnosis (trust me I've done it lots of times).
Before you drive yourself insane, talk with your doctor.
I do think that if it was something concerning your doctor would have told you right there.

Re: Should I be concerned?
I have this and had a perfectly normal 40-week pregnancy! I just had to stop working a little earlier (I think it was 5 or 6 weeks before my due date) because of the risk of pre-term labor, but other than that, it wasn't an issue at all!

Re: Should I be concerned?
I have a tilted uterus and read horror stories online while TTC I am now 20 weeks...just don't goggle, its the worse thing to do!
I would call your Dr and simply ask just so you have a peace of mind!

Re: Should I be concerned?
Actually my boss has that and with her first baby they didn't pick up on it till she was in her third trimester because the baby wasn't growing. Make a long story short they did an emergency c section on her at 38 weeks I think and her son was born 4lbs due to the shape of her uterus the baby could not grow properly. She is now pregnant with her second child and everything is great she is due in 2 weeks and with close monitoring the baby is over 6 lbs. I know its not much helpful info but I thought it would help hearing someone story.

Re: Should I be concerned?
thanks for the posts ladies! The dr. said mine is slight, so I am assuming that means it won't be as extreme with the problems that i read about on google. I was just surprised she didn't ask me or tell me anything about having a baby.

Re: Should I be concerned?
It's perfectly normal to have a different shaped uterus. Mine is curved. I googled it too when the radiologist first told me during my HSG and I was freaked out by what I read. The doc explained to me that it is absolutely normal.

Re: Should I be concerned?
I'm not a doctor what-so-ever, but a friend of mine has this. She was told by her gyno that she would never have children, went off of BCP, and got pregnant that month. She now has a beautiful 1 year-old son :).
ETA: Also, the doctor said hers was a VERY extreme case.
