IVF bound..

Just got my package of "instructions and things to do". Holy list of drugs. I cant believe how many are on the list. I knew i had to do injectables but when I saw DH face when I showed him the list I started to freak.
For you ladies that are needle shy (i pass out, should be fun) how do you get yourself prepped for it?

I am also very needle shy to the point that everytime i get my blood taken, i need to use the butterfly needles for babies. I had gonal f injections to start and to be honest with you, I really freaked myself out too much. I couldn't do it the first time and had DH do it. I layed on my back, squeezed my eyes closed and my whole body was so tense when he applied the alcohol wipe!! The anticipation was the worst because he was already done with it and I didn't even feel it. The subcutaneous shots I can administer them myself now with no problem. I'm not going to lie, it's the one that goes in your muscle hurt! I'm a big baby so I screech everytime. I think there are remedies to minimize the pain from the needle for those...icing for 5 min or heating it after the shot.
Overall, it really isn't that bad!

Thanks. I am going to try not to think about it. First time my DH gave me a shot for something else. I passed out on him. it wasnt a pretty sight. LOL

So hes already prep for me.

I haven't done IVF. I can tell you though after awhile you get use to all the needles and injections. Most of them prob will end up not being as terribly painful as you expect.

I was scared to begin IVF but realized it wasn't as bad as I originally thought. The emotional stress is still there but the physical pain was less than expected. It was over before I knew it. Good luck!

Thanks I am feeling hopeful that this is going to change my life forever. One day at a time right?!
