Breastfeeding - feeding on one side only....?

My daughter is only 1 month - sometimes she'll feed on one side pretty good and then baaam......out like a light.......

should I try and have her feed on the other - it's like impossible to wake her sometimes! and


(...at the times we want her to sleep she doesn't LOL)

Or you can pump out the side she didn't nurse on. The next time you put her on, but her on the pumped side so your milk production stays the same in both breasts.

I used to feed Alex on one side only. I didn't pump the other side. He wouldn't feed any longer than 5 to 10 minutes on one side. The nurses told me he was an efficient eater.

This is what I use to do...

When I was BFing- Ryan would always s uck on one side during a feeding

Same here Brianna would only have one side a feeding until she was 3 months then she started both. I just switched sides each feeding..

Both my kids were one siders... Perfectly ok... Once my boobs got regulated, it was a fine system to work with. Chat Icon

Except for the first month or so, my son always only ate 1 side at every feeding. I would just switch at the next feeding.

Gianna does the same thing, I was also told the same thing.

It's kind of nerve racking that they only eat for a couple minutes than refuse the other, but she's happy, doesn't fuss, and seems content, so is mommy!
