Ladies who don't O without meds...
When you're on a non-medicated cycle do you still get EWCM around what would be O time?
I've never O'd on my own, the past 3 cycles I was on clomid which did make me O. Last cycle I had EWCM on CD12 than got a CD13 and O'd CD14.
Today is CD12 and last night and today I have TONS of EWCM. I've also been taking OPK's and noticed that the lines are gradually getting darker just like they did during my clomid cycles. (Yes, I have the last 3 cycles OPK's saved in little baggies so I can compare )
I guess I'm just wondering if maybe just maybe I'm going to O on my own!? I'm probably just grasping at straws though.

Sometimes I would get EWCM and I still not "O". I would even get positive OPK's and still not "O". Remember, just because you get a positive you are not guaranteed to ovulate. The OPK just detects the surge, it can't tell you if the egg actually released. On occasion I've ovulated on my own but it's rare.

Thank you! I know about the OPK thing. The only reason I'm thinking I may actually O is because without meds I normally don't get a positive. I'm still temping though so I should be able to confirm if I do!

Re: Ladies who don't O without meds...
I know by now I should get this but I am starting to question if I O or not.
I get positive OPK's each month, (for multiple days though) have EWCM and my temp has a shift but how do I know if I really do O or not??

The temp shift indicates that O has occured. As long as you are seeing a clear shift you should be fine. How many days do you normally have positive OPK's?

Sometimes 3 days but this past cycle is was like 5. So now, being crazy and reading into things, I think I have PCOS. Meanwhile, I have no other signs except for last cycle O'ing for a friggen' week!

I wouldn't get too worried yet. I've def. heard of multiple girls getting positive OPK's for 3 days. I'm sure the 5 days was a fluke. If it continues to happen then maybe call the doc and ask for an appointment. Also, are you using the digital OPK's? Just wondering if it's possinle you're mistaking an ALMOST positive one for an actual positive.

You may be totally right....I have been using cheapy CVS ones. Maybe i should just spend the money and buy digitals.
Thanks Christina! I am sorry I hijacked your post!

I would absolutely try the digitals for a cycle and see what happens. they just make it so much easier. No guess work at all. And if you're like me you can still be crazy and compare lines once you eject the stick And no worries about the post!

Re: Ladies who don't O without meds...
i don't really O on my own too often - but i ONLY get EWCM when it's the real deal. up to this point i ONLY get it when i really do end up Oing. there are lots of times that i thought i was going to O based on OPK and other things, but if there wasn't real EWCM (and not DH leftovers) it would never result in actually releasing an egg.
so i guess for me the presence of undeniable EWCM is truly an impending O sign. i really dont ever get it when I am not Oing.
not sure if that answered your question though because i really don't have any concept of when i "should" be Oing since my cycles have been completely irregular since going off BCP a year ago.

Definitely helps! I'm really hoping this is the real deal and not my body messing with me

Re: Ladies who don't O without meds...
How did you girls find out that you weren't Oing on your own? I feel like I might not being Oing lately...I haven't ever had a positive OPK - My cycles used to be like 29-31 days but the past 2 have been 39 and 37...And I truly can't figure out when I might be Oing by temping. How can I find out if I'm ovulating?

Temping should be able to tell you whether or not you are Oing. Can you show us your chart? Most of us can spot an annovulatory cycle pretty quickly, unfortunately!

for me it was a combo of temping - but instead of never getting +OPKs, i ALWAYS got +OPKs. like for 5 days in a row, then no temp spike, then 3 days of -OPK's and then 5 more days o f +OPKs and no temp spike. also i never got AF.. i knew after like the third time that happened in one cycle that i needed to see a doctor.
this was all post BCP. as a teenager before BCP i remember having regular cycles so i had no idea i had an issue. turns out i have PCOS which is the root cause of my anovulation.

Re: Ladies who don't O without meds...
I always get + OPKs and I even get "O" pain on one side or the other but my progesterone levels confirm I dont' release the eggies. This last two months I've even had EWCM and still no positive ovulation....those darm hormones are sooo confusing!
