Oh Cr@p!
I knew it was bound to happen going to the RE one day.
I walked in today and the first person I see is a co-worker standing at the reception desk. We both made eye contact and then acted like we never saw each other, not a hello, nothing.
OMG it was so uncomfortable. Now I hope she doesnt say anything about it and especially to anyone else.
I dont know do I do damage control? or just let it be?

Re: Oh Cr@p!
Let it be. I think knowing someone else is struggling too makes it easier.
If you want to keep it to yourself, act like it never happened.
You may see her again there but there's no avoiding it.
Lots of women have this struggle.
Three women who work on this floor all saw my former RE at Cornell. I saw them there!
Now we talk about it. They had success and I didn't.

Re: Oh Cr@p!
I would just let it be. I think the fact that she did make eye contact with you but did not initate any conversation is probably a way to let you know that she doesn't want it to be known. I'm pretty sure she won't say anything to your other colleagues because she's in the same situation like you.

Re: Oh Cr@p!
Next time you see her...
Say hello.
Tell her you feel awkward.
Tell her you don't want anyone at work to know you are TTC/ seeing a RE.
I'm sure she feels the same way.

Re: Oh Cr@p!
I sort of ran into a friends wife. not sure if she saw me but I pretended not to see her. I would never mention it to anyone we know in common because it's just so private. I think most people in this situation follow that unwritten code.
Ironically I was talking to my son's pediatrician and it turns out that she was doing treatments at the same time that I was, at the same place. I am shocked we didn't run into one another. She did say she ran into a ton of her patient's moms though.... I feel like that would be really uncomfortable.
