How do you get your dog to poop?

I know this sounds like weird question.
Bowie is used to pooping in our backyard- we'd just let him out and he'd have the run of our yard and do his business as he pleased.

But we are having the backyard gutted and redone, so it won't be his personal playground anymore.
He won't poop when we take him out for walks... is there a way to train him to do this? I actually need him to go in the front of our house - when I take him out there on the leash, because i can't always take him for a walk when the babies are sleeping or whatever. It would have to be a quick in and out.
So I need him to know when we go outside its time for him to poop and pee.What is the best way to do this?

Really exercise. A walk would be best but if sometimes you can't do that because of your babies then maybe play in the house for a while first or if you have a treadmill put him on there for a few minutes. The treadmill always does the trick with my boy.

Tough one. I have the reverse issue. My dog is used to walks, he WILL NOT poop in my yard. That's a hard thing to change IMO, they get used to their routines.

Can you give a command? Mine is go make Lola.. and I say go make go make go make as she is pooping so she knows what it means.. Then I
praised the crap out of her .. Maybe you can start doing that?

ETA: If you just keep taking him on walks he WILL eventually poop.. Just keep it up..
