Re: SDFA TEST
I have no experience or advice. Just wanted to send and your way. If you don't mind me asking, why does he have to deal with fedex? There aren't any doctors or facilities on Long Island that do this testing?

Re: SDFA TEST
I actually don't know..its call dna fragmentation. Dr B ordered it and gave us this lab to call. They are out of boston. It looks like they have the process down pat but well see!!!
i didn't ask any questions. I figured if there was an easier way than DR. B would have told us.
Hoping for good results though!!

Re: SDFA TEST
Even though Dr. B isn't my RE, I've heard nothing but amazing things about him, and I am sure if he ordered it...it's necessary and he will have a good plan for you guys!

Re: SDFA TEST
We just did this Wednesday. DH went to Dr. B's office and "donated" a sample...they took care of the rest. They said we should hear results in 7-10 days.

Re: SDFA TEST
I don't have experience with this yet... but Dr. B just ordered one of those kits for my DH too. He said that we could either drop off the sample at his office and he'd send it in the dry ice box to the Boston lab, or we could do it ourselves. We figured, why waste the time driving back and forth? Dr. B did say there was a number to call if we had questions about the process, maybe ask him about it? Either way, good luck!

Re: SDFA TEST
one more question Dr b girls!!
the lab for this process is out of network for our insurance. which is fine. But does Dr. B office check to make sure they labs they send all of the bloodwork to is in network or do we have to ask about this. I don't want to get hit with a million bills

Re: SDFA TEST
my DH did the dna degfrag test but we just brought the sample to dr. B and his office took care of the rest. the results took FOREVER to come back - seriously i think it was 5 weeks.
did your DH have lower than average morphology? mine did which is why they ordered the test. it came back with high oxidization and dr. b told my DH to take an antioxidant and he recommended which specific one.
good luck!

Re: SDFA TEST
Mind if I ask, what were the indications that required this test? TIA.

We are unexplained, so we are just grasping at straws at this point. We have done all the preliminary testing so we are moving it up a notch, hoping to find SOMETHING so we can fix it.
We also are hoping to be able to use the results to help us get IVF covered.

Re: SDFA TEST
DH did the sperm fragmentation test and we're still waiting for results. I'm sure Dr. B will call us when they come in.
He produced at home, and by the time I got to the office, FedEx just dropped off the canister, so the timing was perfect.

Re: SDFA TEST
Dh did it there. It came back in two weeks.
Both the lab for the bloodwork and the dna frag are out of network.
DH was fine.
