no idea where to go!?
DH & I had planned to go to Rome this summer in July. Now his job has denied his vacation request so we only have 1 week to do something.
We have been to Aruba & loved it. We don't want to go to the same country again though. Thats not off the table.
We are considering St.Lucia & Acapulco sandals. We also though of going to Miami for a couple of nights, renting a car & driving to Key West for a few nights. We rather leave the U.S. though.
We like to snorkel & we like some type of night life (clubs/ dancing). All inclusive would be fine, we aren't much into fine dinning & food. We don't want to go to a country where you can't leave your resort without getting mugged (ex. Jamaica)
$$ is really not a big deal.

JMO but Sandals is a lot of money for an okay resort....
I would look into other all inclusives, I recommend the Excellence Resorts

we went to st thomas and st john (US territories, felt very safe) for our hm. loved loved loved it! we are huge snorkelers and it was like paradise. not sure about nightlife tho..fm if you want info on where we stayed.

Why not go to Rome for a week? I know it's not as long , but one week is still plenty! If that's what you wanted to do than that's what you should do, just modify your itinerary...

you can definitely do a week in Rome but I understand if you'd rather do a longer trip and see other cities.
What about a week in Paris? You can spend a day at Versailles and a week is plenty of time there.
Edit: We did Sandals St. Lucia for our honeymoon and it was OK but not sure that I think it was worth the money.

I recommend Cabo! Out of any vacation DH and I have ever taken, this was the best. Better than our honeymoon, or any other trip. There is ALOT of nightlife, shopping, and it's very safe to walk around. The beaches are great, and there are some really beautiful hotels. I would recommend staying close to the Marina, as that is where the downtown is, and where alot of bars and good restaurants are, and you can walk to it all. We are goingb back later this year. The weather is amazing too. FM with any ?'s. You will love it!!

If you're considering Acapulco I would also suggest you look into Puerto Vallarta. DH and I love it there. The town is nice and safe and has some good nightlife. Same with Playa del Carmen (near Cancun.)

I agree with this. My feeling is as long as you use common sense you can go ANYWHERE and not get into trouble.

I agree, I went to Jamaica a few years ago with another single girl friend. We met a few local men at the resort and we went off resort a few times! We walked alone on the streets... It wasn't a problem

Is this really necessary to pinpoint any one island?......they still can't find Natalie Holloway's body and she was in Aruba. Bottom line you must use common sense whereever you go
