Want to take up cycling- any advice, recs?
I obviously need a bicycle but being fickle I don't want to spend a lot of money. Any recommendations? Also I know I need a helmet, any other equipment? Tips?

I just got a new hybrid Raleigh. From what my hubby says, the worst thing is to have a bad bike.
It was 350...the retail on it was around 500 though...We got bikes at Sunrise Cyclery...
You can spend less, but you get what you pay for.

Thanks- I will keep that info in mind. I am so fickle when it comes to exercise so I am of two minds: 1) spend a lot, then I will use it out of guilt. or 2) buy a cheap bike, see how I like it (will likely stick to just my neighborhood till I get comfortable) and then upgrade if I get serious.
Thanks again.
