Locksmith recs or advice needed
When it rains it pours in our house!!!
At the time we finished our basement we enclosed our boiler room - contractor installed a prehung steel fire door from HD complete with keyed lock. DH and I joked last week that we have NO IDEA where the key to the boiler room is and should buy a new keyed doorknob... Haven't been in the boiler room in a few days and went today to turn they knob and it's LOCKED.
The door can not be removed from the hinges as it doesn't have pin hinges - it has those huge commercial looking barrel hinges.
There are no visible screws on the outside of the doorknob...short of calling a locksmith I have no idea how to get the door open... I have tried the basic credit card trick and it doesn't even come close...
Any ideas on how to pick the lock/remove the doorknob? I am open to ANY & ALL ideas.
As a last resort does anyone have any recos for inexpensive locksmiths? I'm sure this would take a locksmith all of 5 minutes to remedy...
Thanks!!!

i would be calling the contractor that did the job in the first place. maybe he remembers where he put the key, or if HE has it!! don't spend a dime or do anything to the door until you call him!!!
