Guilanna & Bill on E!
I find it amazing that they are documenting their IVF story on TV. It actually was pretty interesting to see them going thru the injections & same painful 2ww and then finding out it was a BFN. I felt her pain. But the interesting part was how they showed the stress of going for IVF. I think it opened up our eyes that its nothing like IUI and really how much you sacrifice for the goal. It kinda scared us. DH & I thought it was a less complicated procedure. Im in denial.

stay in denial until you need to open the door to IVF. But when you open that door, you will be ok if you guys communicate and support each other.

Are they showing it on E? I thought it was only on Style that they were showing the TTC episodes. I'll have to see if I can DVR it.

Re: Guilanna & Bill on E!
Oh don't forget its on TV so they have to make it more dramatic in the editing room. Its not that much different than an IUI on injects. More money of course. A few more monitoring days, maybe. ER is probably the hardest part, but really you are out for 15-20 minutes. One time I woke and could not believe only 15 minutes passed (felt like hours). ET is like getting your IUI and the 2ww is the same (actually a little shorter). You may have a little bit more meds too but not much more. Its not that much more, seriously (did 4 of them). As far as sacrificing...not really sure what you mean by that as being different from an IUI.

Don't stress too much. IVF, IMO, was not nearly as stressful as I thought it would be. Just take it 1 day at a time. The first few weeks i was on BC. Then they started me on the meds. 1 tiny little needle in the belly each night. It was no different than an Ovidrel shot. Totally do-able. Then a few days later, they added a 2nd shot. Again, a small shot, in the belly. Almost painless. Yes, you have to go in for monitoring for often. Yes, the trigger shot isn't fun (but you only have to do it 1 night). By that time, you are SO ready for your ER. The ER isn't bad! I was up and moving around within a few hours of getting home. The ET is so similar to an IUI. (Obviously everyone's protocol is slightly different, but many are similar.)
Trust me....I was a big baby before I started the whole process. It was much less horrible than I imagined. The anxiety over it was way worse than any part of the process.
Stay positive!!!!

ITA with this. For me the worst part of IVF was the anxiety before I started. It was not nearly as stressful or hard as I imagined. I would do it again in a heartbeat and I'm a big chicken

Re: Guilanna & Bill on E!
yea honestly, i thought they made IVF to be much more on TV than it really is... I too went in thinking it was SUCH a major thing to go through and so on but honestly, like someone posted before, if you take it one day at a time, its not all too bad. The most difficult part I thought was getting up and making time before work to go in for monitoring...

Re: Guilanna & Bill on E!
Well, hopefully you wont need to do IVF. But, really you will have a nurse that tells you every step of the way what to do. Its easier than it sounds, really. OK, I do admit the IM shots are a little harder. And I admit I don't do mine, I started out paying a local nurse, who then became my friend. Though I still force her to take money (she comes out at night with 2 LO's at home, at least gas money). Not sure she realized what she was getting herself into LOL (6 rounds, including my DE mock cycle and 1st failed DE cycle).

Re: Guilanna & Bill on E!
I think it is great that they are putting it all out there. I feel like society makes IF something that we shouldn't talk about or almost be ashamed of and it is so not true! I hope it opens a lot of people's eyes and makes them more sensitive to comments, etc.
