stomach pains with progesterone soppositories?
I have been having horrible stomach pains ever since my IUI and first attributed it to possible pregnancy. . then thought maybe it was my prenatal vitamins I started recently.. but now I'm thinking maybe it's the progesterone.
I've been waking up in the middle of the night with TERRIBLE stomach cramps and I've been (tmi) very constipated
For the most part I have only had symptoms at night and usually ok for a good part of the day.. (makes sense since I take the progesterone before going to sleep)
Has anyone else experienced anything remotely like this? I'm trying to figure out if progesterone could be the cause! (I hope it is- because otherwise I'm out of possible causes and I'm SO uncomfortable!!!)

It can be from the injectable meds.

Re: stomach pains with progesterone soppositories?
It's one of the side effects of progesterone.
progesterone side effects
I didn't have it: I had sleepiness & was on nice injection doses & then suppositories.
The problem is... even if you have side effects with progesterone, you have to make do.
I wouldn't rule out your pre-natals though. I was on pre-natals for a loooong time & I found that they caused more side effects than any IF med. I had constipation (severe and ended up taking meds for it), nausea with cramps (started taking it at night AFTER dinner), bad aftertaste... I could go on. I ended up switching brands & then my body just got used to it.
I never had any side effects from injection meds (except large ovaries & the associated discomfort).

The prog could cause cramping, but some women get constipated from the pre-natal vitamins. Have you had a BM lately? If not, then I would get some prunes! I hope you feel better soon

Re: stomach pains with progesterone soppositories?
OMG MEEEEEE TOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I am thinking it is the progesterone however the last IUI I had and progesteron supp. didnt do this
I feel like my lower stomach being crampy and it wakes me up at night and I cannot for the life of me get comfortable to sit. and i am peeeing like crazy at night! Last night i got up 4 times!!!!!!!!!!!
I wanna think it is pregger symptoms but right now i am chalking it up to the progest.
I mean it isnt unbearable but o so annoying! So who knows. But I def did nto feel like this last time! Maybe thats a good thing. I am only 6POIUI so I am halfway.
Good luck!

Re: stomach pains with progesterone soppositories?
Thank you everyone!!!!!!!!!!!
I ended up asking Dr.B about this over the phone. I go for my beta tomorrow Anyway, he said to not take the progesterone tonight and see if I feel any better. I hope I can finally sleep through the night!!!!!! He said it's possible it's from the progesterone since it can 'bind' you ... so we'll see......
thanks again!!
