stomach pains
I've had on and off stomach pains since about Thurs/Friday.....I threw up a few times, but not everyday. It only seems to happen after I eat. Is this the stomach virus or something else I should be concerned about? I thought the stomach virus only lasted about a day or two, but this has been about 5 days now. It's not severe, but its getting me worried. Does anyone know what this is? If I am not better by tmw I guess I should go to the doctor huh...
Thanks!

Re: stomach pains
Stomach viruses can last for up to 10 -15 days or so. The feeling ill part ,not the throwing up. Make sure you stary hydrated and eat a bland diet. I hope this is all that you have. If you are worried about it see your Dr. for reassurance.
I hope you feel better soon

Re: stomach pains
Thanks for your advice. I rarely get this so I was concerned. I actually had a terrible cold last week so I though maybe it had just moved to my stomach area. I didn't realize it would last this long. I am starving! lol

When I got it last month I ended up in the ER twice in 2 days due to dehydration! You will feel better everyday but it can take that long to slowly feel better. You won't feel that crappy for that long!!!
Just eat soups and light stuff. I know I wanted steak after I left the hodpital and the DR laughed and said absolutely NOT !lol It will not bee fun if you eat heavy!! Start adding stuff slowly. You will thank yourself in the long run. remember the BRAT diet Bananas, rice, applesauce, toast

Re: stomach pains
I had a stomach virus last month that lasted-12 days. It was not your typical virus. The best way to describe it is to say my intestines hurt and the pain was very low in my abdomen. The first two days were the worst and I functioned the rest of the time but felt pretty lousy. At one point I thought it was a cyst. However, three other people in my office had the exact same symptoms and I called my doctor who assured me there have been some very strange stomach bugs around this season. Right after the call it did get better, but I have never before had a virus that lasted so long or left me feeling quite so blah.
So maybe its a stomach virus, if you are worried or feel particularly bad, call your doctor.

I forgot I had a culture done and had an intestinal infection they think was from this too.

Re: stomach pains
Yes, my husband told me about the BRAT diet. I had a banana and I think I am gonna have some toast now! Thanks
And yes, it feels like what you are describing. Like cramps low in my stomach area. Not terrible but enough to be annoying. I know that if I eat though, they get worse.
uhh i hate the stomach virus!
thanks girls!

They took a (TMI) poop specimen and did a culture and my white cell count was elevated. They put me on a strong anti biotic Bactracin.(sp)? I felt so much better after I was done with the meds. I still had stuff going on but that really helped!
