Question about our eggs LOL

How long after you O and your egg drops can it still be fertilized.

Like, lets say I O at noon today and thats when my egg drops, how long will it be able to fertilize with the sperm? Like, if I did O at noon , would BDing at 6pm or even the next day even give me a shot or is it too late.

Sorry if this doesn't make much sense, I am having a hard time putting my question into words

Re: Question about our eggs LOL

your question made perfect sense! i believe it's 24-48 hours after O that the egg can be fertilized.

okay so i just googled and found this:

Once released, the egg is capable of being fertilized for 12 to 48 hours before it begins to disintegrate.

My dr. told that, too, and he said it's more likely 12 hours. I'd BD as soon as you get in tonight! Forget dinnerChat Icon

I've read this too!!! that's why we're most fertile the day before we O and the day we O. Then the day after O we are less fertile and then not fertile anymore...does this make sense?

Remember, you don't necessarily have to BD the day you O, if you BD the day before and the day after your chances of getting preggers are just as high.

Yeah, from what I was told by my doc and everything Ive read it's 12-24 hours. Basically when you O you want the sperm to already be where they need to be or at least making the tripChat Icon

Re: Question about our eggs LOL

the CBEFM gives you the peak fertility day (when your egg drops) and then the following day is a high fertility day. So you can still get pregnant up to 24 hours after.... BUT THE SOONER THE BETTER!!!!!

Time to get busy!!!!!!!!!!!!!
