FOUND DOG - Beagle (Westbury/Salisbury)
We found a lost dog today - a male beagle, on Stewart Avenue, near The Plain Road, in Westbury, NY.
He had a blue collar, but no tags, and the shelter could not find any sort of chip in him either. We knocked on several doors on Stewart Avenue and Oakwood Court, but no one knew where this dog came from.
After calling the local police precinct and verifying that no Beagles have recently been reported missing, we brought him to the Town of Hempstead Animal Shelter in Wantagh.

The dog was assigned to #13 and he will be held in the shelter for 6 days, after which he will be eligible for adoption. We hope that someone knows this dog's owners and can let them know where he is!!

He is so cute. Thank god you were there for him, before something happened to him. 
Maybe you can post an add on Craigslist. I did this a few weeks ago about a lost dog in my neighborhood and I received a few e-mails from potential owners.
I hope he gets back home safely or least gets adopted by a great family.

I know - so happy that we were driving by at this time. The poor dog darted on into a street with two lanes of traffic on either side, at least 6 cars must have seen him, but we were the only ones who stopped. There's no way I could have slept tonight if I had seen him and we didn't stop and try to help.
He did seem like a pretty good dog, he was definitely someone's pet and I don't think he had been out on his own for long.
I did also post on Craigslist - I'm hoping that someone will see either of these posts and know this dog!

Omg how adorable. Thank goodness you stopped and saved his life. I love beagles!! I hope the owners can find him!
