We just booked Paris!

We rented a flat for the week in Paris, 15 minutes walking distance from the Eiffel Tower. It was a hard decision, we were kind of nervous as I said in an earlier post but now we just feel great about it. And the price we got with air and the flat is just amazing!

Now I know all the main things to do in Paris - Eiffel Tower, Lourve, etc but what else would you guys reconmend seeing? We're going to be going in mid September this year.

Re: We just booked Paris!

I found the flat on Flipkey.com which is owned by TripAdvisor, I liked this site compared to others because I was able to email back and forth with the owner directly. She sent me a website with info and photos on the flat. FM me if you want more info.

Have a great time! We stayed in a hotel about 15 minutes walking distance of Eiffel Tower and it was great. You will love it there!! Chat Icon

There is a red tour bus (open deck on top) that has a stop at every major site around the city that comes every 15 minutes or so... we took it from the Tower to Notre Dame, the Louvre, etc.. it was really reasonable in price too and we saw it all in one day.

Re: We just booked Paris!

Take the train to Versailles!

There are so many beautiful parks, luxemburg is one.

The catacombs are freaky but a cool experience.

Sacre-coeur basillica is very pretty

Make sure to have a crepe with nutella!

Notre Dame of course...

They have river dinner cruises, never went on one but you may want to look into it.

Really, do a lot of walking around, there is so much to see, so much history-its so gorgeous!

Re: We just booked Paris!

When we were in Paris on our Honeymoon last year, we took a segway tour that started near Notre Dame and went all over the place. It was $75 pp I think (USD) and was a few hours long. It was really fun and took us all over to less-known places. I'd be happy to give you the info for our tour guide if you're interested! DH really enjoyed riding the segway, too! It was one of our most fun "extras" during our HM.

Love Paris!

If you're going to go to a lot of touristy places, you may want to get the Museum Pass. It'll save you money and the best part is that at a lot of places, you can skip the line and go straight in.

Loved Notre Dame and definitely worth it to climb up to see the view. Be prepared to walk and climb a lot.

The Metro is great but remember to keep your ticket to exit.

Versailles is beautiful and huge. We especially liked Marie Antoinette's hamlet. You can rent bikes there. Bring food and have a picnic.

Have a great time...try to get off the beaten path a little. And definitely eat lots of macaron or anything else from the patissiere...so yum!

Make sure you do see the Eiffel Tower at night! (which im sure you are already planning on doing).
Anddd as silly as it may sound - go to a show at the Moulin Rouge! It's really an experience.
