Spinoff to oil contract question....
Next month will mark 1 year that we signed our oil contract with Meenan. This is our first house so this is still new to us. Being that the contract is expiring in March, what would Meenan do if I didn't call them? Do they just automatically renew the contract at whatever rate they want? Will they call me first? Is it typically to shop around every year and keep changing oil companies to get the "new customer" rate? Help! I'm lost!

Well they cant just auto-renew your contract without giving you written notice 30 days in advance. So unless they do that even if you do get another oil delivery you can end the deliveries with them anytime after the end of the contract

Re: Spinoff to oil contract question....
Are you happy with Meenan? They're offering $1.99 for my first delivery, $100 credit for signing up, and a free thermostat. They're the cheapest I've found. I was all ready to sign with Petro but they never called me back today so I thought I'd ask about Meenan in the meantime. I know they're owned by the same people but Petro refused to give me the "breaks" offered by Meenan because they say their service is so much better, that's what I'm paying for.

Re: Spinoff to oil contract question....
I think Meenan's service is great! We bought the house from a woman who really didn't take care of it. When we first started putting the heat on the boiler was giving us a ton of problems. We called Meenan and the guy was here right away and stayed for like 2 hours cleaning it all out, tuning it up...EVERYTHING. It was the evening so my DH was home and the guy walked DH thru everything he was doing so my DH would understand. I would love to keep Meenan, but I don't want to get ripped off now that I'm not a "new customer" anymore. I guess I have to call them to renegotiate or look for another compnay (which I rather not do....but it all comes down to the $$$!)
