they want HOW MUCH blood??!?!?!
I posted about a month ago about being nervous for a 20 vile blood test. I thought that was a crazy amount and I was dreading going in for it.
Finally, I called today to make the appointment. Over the phone they told me I was mistaken. It's not 20 viles.
It's 43.  
How am I going to do 43 viles of blood?! I am wondering if anyone here has done that much and what your experience was. Did you feel faint after? I'm a small person!

There's not all that much blood per vial (3 cc times 40 is only 120 cc, which is a lot less than donating a unit of blood).
Hang in there: at least it's only 1 stick!

I know it seems like a lot, but it's not that bad.
The most I had at once was 27 vials taken. It took less than 10 minutes to draw up all the blood, and I felt fine afterwards. I actually went to a Spin class 2 hrs later.
You will be ok. Maybe they can split the tests up so it's over two days?

you'll be OK!! it will be over before you know it!!
ive donated blood before and im about the same size as you so i know its tolerable although not the most pleasant thing in the world. you will be fine, if you think you might get dizzy tell them beforehand and maybe they can draw it while you are already lying down.

I freak out with just the norm of like five or seven... I always bring a bagel or something and ALWAYS orange juice... hang in there!!! Like it was mentioned above, thankfully its just ONE prick and you are OUT!!!

drink plenty of water, when you are really hydrated it help the blood flow better. I made the mistake of not drinking any the day I had a lot of blood work and the blood was coming out SO slow. She actually stopped and made me drink water for 15 minutes. The difference was amazing! Now before any blood draw, even if it is I vial, I drink a ton of water before.

My perinatologist wanted 40 vials to run all his tests. I couldn't eat from midnight the night before. I stopped for some fruit and juice and had a bite before going in. It was fine.
You'll be ok.
