Driving to NC...stops along the way?
I have family in Wilmington, NC and we are going to drive down in June with the 2 kids. I think it is much easier than flying but it is a 10+ hour car ride. We decided we would probably stop somewhere and stay over night going and do the same coming home to break up the car ride.
DS #1 will be 3 and DS #2 will be 9 months at the time. We were looking for amusement parks, water parks or zoo's to stop at. I know of Busch Gardens. Any other places you recommend in the Virginia area since it is a mid point?
ETA: My parents also mentioned Kings Dominion but I am not familiar with it. Is it out of the way?

Kings Dominion is literally right off 95 in Asheville, VA. I may be wrong, but I think it's closer to 95 than Busch Gardens.

We always stopped at Kings Dominion. We never went to the park but it seems to be where we tend to stop when we drive to Charlotte. It is right off 95.

Yes Bush Garden in not off 95. probably 30+ minutes from there.
