Re: Washington DC

Just a fyi. While Georgetown is my favorite neighborhoods, it is not on the Metro line, so I wouldn't stay there. It's best to stay on a hotel that is on the red line, that will make it easiest to get around the whole city.

Re: Washington DC

There's a Westin downtown. Its very centrally located, pretty hotel, and a great breakfast.

We stayed in Arlington, VA. Less than a 5 minute walk to the metro and only 2 or 3 stops to get to DC. Coutryard Marriott, I think.

Re: Washington DC

We've stayed numerous times at the Marriott in Dupont Circle. Also, the Jurys hotel in Dupont which I think has recently changed hands but it is nice and very easy to the Metro as well.

Re: Washington DC

Old Town Alexandria has a lot of great restaurants and chic shops on King Street which is only a few blocks from the water.

Re: Washington DC

I love the Ritz Carlton in Pentagon City. It's right near the airport and on the blue/yellow line. Even better it's connected to the mall.

I also like the areas near the White House (Metro Center, Farragut North). There's a JW Marriott near Pennsylvania ave and the Capital Hilton on 16th Street (2 blocks from white house).

Definitely try to hang out in Adams Morgan they have really diverse selection of restaurants. And check out Ben's Chili Bowl on U Street.

We stayed at the Hilton in Dupont Circle this summer and were happy with it.

I've also stayed in Arlington and loved it.
