egg count question
How does your RE know how many eggs you are producing when you are on Clomid or other meds like that?
When I had my last sono he said the eggs were too small to see, so how do they know?

Re: egg count question
They measure the eggs via internal sonos and monitor the growth.

Re: egg count question
It probably was a very early sono.
When they start developing, they will estimate a count. When it's really early, they see lots of small "bubbles" (follicles): not all will grow.

I feel like maybe hes missing something now. I dont want to ask him again when I go back for the f/u to my clomid. How am i going to know i didnt do this cycle for nothing?

they can tell after you ovulate too. I think a corpus luteus (or something like that) forms. I am sure he saw an egg if he told you you were going to ovulate.

Re: egg count question
When you go for your sonos, does your doctor talk to you about what he's seeing and the next steps? Whenever I have an internal sono done, the technician talks to me the entire time and keeps me informed of the progress that I am making. I would DEFINITELY ask your doctor exactly what happened. He should be ready and willing to provide you with all the details. If not, I would maybe consider looking into another doctor.

He does the sono himself and now that you mention it he doesnt rally explain step by step. I have been asking questions but I guess I was thinking hes been doing this for as long as I am alive so he must know what hes doing. I should know better though. I will definetly ask for more details.
