2nd IUI and so much Pain
I had my second round of IUI yesterday and once again I am in severe pain. My first IUI I could barely walk for two days and yesterday I had some light cramping after the procedure but about 4-5 hours later again severe pain. Today I had to take off of work because it was unbearable.
Any others experience pain. The doctor tells me that most people dont get any pain

Re: 2nd IUI and so much Pain
I didn't have any pain except for when I think I ovulated but that wasn't too bad nor did it last long.
Since your dr. acknowledges that its not common, he should investigate why it hurts and tell you what you can do about it. Hope you feel better soon.

Re: 2nd IUI and so much Pain
I didn't have severe pain. i dont think you should have severe pain with any treatment (IUI or IVF). Maybe some slight discomfort. I would consult your Dr so you can rule out OHSS. Keep us posted and take care!!!!

Re: 2nd IUI and so much Pain
Sorry you're in pain! The first time I had back 2 back IUIs was in Oct., and I was in severe pain the second day. I am not sure what it was, but I think a week or so after, I ended up with a bladder infection. I suggest seeing how you feel the next day or so. If it still hurts, you might need to go to the doctor just to rule out any other problem. I just had another recently, and it wasn't as bad as the first time!
Good luck!!

Re: 2nd IUI and so much Pain
I've had two IUIs and not an ounce of pain with either of them. Definitely call your doc and see if they can figure out why you are in so much pain. Hope you feel better soon!

Re: 2nd IUI and so much Pain
I had pain, but it was from the hyperstimulation....not the actualy IUI. It just felt like really bad cramps. It was gone in a day.

Re: 2nd IUI and so much Pain
I've never felt any pain with IUI's. I would definitely make note of it and mention it to your dr. Any pain for that matter too.

Re: 2nd IUI and so much Pain
I definetly had pain. it was like cramps but strong. It lasted for about one day after the 2nd IUI. I called the office and the nurse said the because they manipulate the cervix abit that could cause the area to be irritated and cause cramping. It did get better but I continued to have pain on/off until AF came on the left side (egg from that side). The RE said it was probably pain from Ovualting. I would wait a day take an Advil and if you are still in pain definetly call the MD.
