Re: Manorville?

Its an awesome area.

Taxes are a little high and houses are expensive but I wish we could have found a place there.

Re: Manorville?

I live in Manorville and we are actually in the process of selling our Townhouse. I love Manorville, the schools are great, it is nice and quite, very low crime. We really love it and we especially love our Townhouse I am so sad to actually be selling but we need to find a mother daughter house so my MIL can live with us. We live in a nice gated community and are surrounded by the pine barrens we love sitting out on our patio and listening to all the nature around us.

Re: Manorville?

I grew up in Manorville and would move back in a heartbeat. Because of the new school, the taxes are through the roof on some of the new houses- just be careful of that with new construction.

ETS: When we went to look at a model, I asked the RE agent about taxes and he wasn't quite honest, make sure to look into that.

I love Manorville too. I would love to live there, but the commute to NYC would be too long for DH. I grew up out there and it is my dream to move back.

Re: Manorville?

Its a nice area, my parents live over there. But, they are very unhappy with the school district. My younger brother and sisters go to the high school, and it seems there are a lot of fights, and so many kids are getting in trouble for doing drugs. They also said that the teachers are not very good.

Re: Manorville?

I have to look at their report cards but in all honesty.. I dont think there would be even ONE school that wouldnt have some kids doing drugs..
I went to Jericho, one of the top schools in the entire country and kids got in trouble for drugs their too..

noone knows the prices on taxes for new construction until your basically in the house for a couple of months..stupid right? they basically can only give a in between figure.

Re: Manorville?

I guess the taxes vary alot depending on size of property too...
The taxes on these homes to be built wont be less then about 16 or 17,000 I was told..but we are ok with that..I just wanted the property..I cant find a house I can afford on 2 acres of land anywhere else..lol

Its just sooooooooooooooooooooo far.. ugh

IDK, my family tells me it is a BIG problem. My younger sister always tell me there are kids dealing/doing drugs on school property. I guess things are different than when all of us went to high school. Good luck in your search for a house!

I think you are in the same complex as me, that is about what we pay in taxes with start for a 2bed 1.5bth townhouse. Our neighbors rave about the schools and the teachers.

Chat Icon Do you have kids in your section? still trying to find out if there are kids here my dd's age. During the summer it seems most of the kids at the pool are just visiting.
I'm happy with the SD...my daughter starts this Sept at SSChat Icon . I went to the Eastport SD which then was K-12Chat Icon . Now, I believe it's K-6.

Re: Manorville?

It's beautiful out there...taxes are going to be dependent on the age, size and property of the home. I have a friend who lives there and has three kids and loves the school district. He researched before they bought (moving from Sayville) and found it to be on par with Sayville SD...at least that's what he said.
His wife teaches in Manorville also.

Re: Manorville?

I still didnt pull their report card but I have been told that the new highschool is VERY modern and beautiful.
They have large flat screen tv's in all classrooms.. a large modern auditorium..I was also told their cafeteria was all different stations of food, like a wedding..lol
They have a italian station, a wrap station a meat station etc...

Just hope their academics are up to par

There are a couple of kids near our section, I know one neighboor has a 1 year old and then there are some kids that are around 6 or 7 years old always ridding their bikes around the court. They live across the street from us.
