Re: Tahitti, Moorea, and Bora Bora...
I went for my hm in 06.
We really liked:
Le Matiehani at the Moorea Pearl La Villa Mahana on Bora Bora
Reservations are needed for both. They were our splurge dinners- and really well worth it.
More casual: Le Sud and Mahana Cafe on Moorea Te Honu Iti (The Little Turtle), Moorea
You might want to try poisson cru, a Polynesian dish of tuna marinated in coconut milk.
Go to the supermarket and buy Tahiti Drink- its a fruit punch with alcohol. I miss that stuff.
Activities
Moorea- I liked the Albert's jeep tour, which will take you around the island and eventually to the distillery. The Vanilla Creme sold there is delicious.
Bora Bora- we went scuba diving with the dive shop at the Bora Bora Pearl.
You'll love it!

definitely try to do some scuba or shark feeding, something that gets you in the water close up with the fish and sealife. Rent mopeds in moorea. the whole place is just paradise.

I can't really remember the names of places since it was 4+ years ago, but we loved Bloody Mary's for dinner. Your hotel can make a res for you when you get there.
It's amazing!! Enjoy!

Re: Tahitti, Moorea, and Bora Bora...
Villa Mahana in Bora Bora. I believe it is supposed to be the best restaurant in the French Polynesia. It was one of the best meals of my life. You have to make reservations waaaaaay in advance. I had tried to get a reservation 4 months prior to my honeymoon and they were already booked. The only reason we got to eat there is because someone else canceled.
Many people told us to skip staying in tahiti but I wanted to check it out. I wished I listened to others and had gone straight to bora bora - absolute paradise.

My inlaws went a few years ago, and the said next time if they go, they are skipping moorea and just staying in bora bora the entire time.
I think they did 4 days in morea and 5 days in bora bora. And wished the entire time in bora bora they had only stayed there

Re: Tahitti, Moorea, and Bora Bora...
We didnt go anywhere but its bc we loved our hotels and we had breakfast & dinners included - which in my opinion was the best thing we ever did! the food is 5* +++++ best food DH & I ever ate. They have chefs straight from France! Unbelievable. ANd if you dont have a meal plan - breakfast will cost you about $120 & dinner around $350 (without alcohol)
we did do the stingray/shark diving thing in bora bora - i dont know what i was thinking looking back now - lol - the shark diving was CRAZY!!!
One other recommendation - if you like to have a drink or two or three.... buy some bottles duty free in LAX - bc a drink by the pool costs $35!!! and you cant even feel the alchohol!!!! We didnt buy enough lol - just had enough for Moorea, and ran out for BB :(

Re: Tahitti, Moorea, and Bora Bora...
We went for our honeymoon in 2004. We went on a cruise, but stoped in those islands. If you are going to get a black pearl- get it loose and have it set at home- a lot less $$, and you know what kind of gold you are getting. I set mine in a necklace and love it. def go to Bloody Mary's, In Tahiti, go to the big market near the piers, see Paul Mitchners house, go to the beach w/ the black sand- so cool to see, go see the sting rays, a sunset on a catamaran in Bora Bora- the sunsets are amazing !!! In Tahaa which means little Tahiti they grow vanilla. The French bread is really good too. Sometimes you will see loose dogs on the islands. I felt so bad for them- we were feeding them food. Have a wonderful trip!!!

Re: Tahitti, Moorea, and Bora Bora...
Whatever you do, PLEASE snorkel. It was the best experience of my life.
Bloody Marys was fun in Bora Bora-and we swam with dolphins in Moorea and that was unbelievable too.
And also, please take a LOT of pics, I took over 1500 pictures and am so glad I have them. My husband also took a lot of video and we have a honeymoon video that is just awesome

Re: Tahitti, Moorea, and Bora Bora...
You're going to love it.
I went back in 2002 (HM) and in Moorea we did the rain forest tour, it was GORGEOUS. I remember hiking up and when we got up there, it was sooo worth it. Although I heard they might not do the Jeep tour up there anymore. But if it is, do it.
Yoour going to LOVE, LOVE, LOVE, Bora Bora. It's absolutely gorgeous.
We swam w/the sharks & stingrays (I think that's what they are called). Just amazing.
I found there wasn't alot to do but relax and enjoy one another. You're not going to believe how beautiful it is.

ITA - if I were to go back I'd do Bora Bora all the way! I believe everyone has to spend 1st night in Tahiti though do to late flights getting in. No flights/ferries over to islands at that time.

I went in 2007 for my HM...will FM you the link to my LONG review on LIW...but I list all restaurants we ate at there...will send you since I can't remember the names of all of them now. I 2nd Villa Mahana though...best meal of my life! I'll also find and FM you the email address you need to make a reservation there. Dinner is $$$ though...if I remember correctly it was around $300. Bloody Marys on Bora Bora also really fun and good.

Re: Tahitti, Moorea, and Bora Bora...
DH and I cruised the islands for our HM because I was terrified of those little planes that you have to take from island to island. Loved the cruise and we got to see a lot of other places as well. We then took a ferry and stayed in Moorea for two nights in an over water bungalow!! It was great. It is a once in a lifetime trip

We are staying at the Intercontinental Thalasso in Bora Bora, and the Intercontinental Resort and Spa Moorea...I believe there is only one there. We have one night in Tahitti and that hotel is a Intercontinental too.
We have a hookup at Intercontinental which was great. We booked a middle grade room and were already upgraded and assigned the best room in all hotels! Definitely helped since the prices are

OK I am CRAZY jealous...I stayed at Intercontinental Thalasso...hands down best hotel I've ever stayed at. You are going to love it! It's amazing. The rooms are HUGE and the water there is just the best! Nothing like swimming off your own deck. I heard great things about Intercontinental Moorea (I was at the Pearl Resort there). And I was at Intercontinental Tahiti for 1 night too...if you have time when you wake up - walk around the resort. It's really pretty. Breakfast there was good too before you leave to head off to your next island.
Great you had a hook up at Intercontinental...it is crazy how expensive the hotels are there but it is worth every penny...you're going to have the best time! Going to FM you my honeymoon review link now to LIW site.
