broil question.

when a recipe calls for broiling, how do i know if its on a high heat or low heat? it never says on the recipe. ex." broil 3 min on each side"..i dont want to over cook my fish. thanks

My oven only has one broil setting. Does yours have more than one?

I would imagine it would be the high setting. I think that is 500 degrees and more depending on the stove.
