Chinese Food - Favs
What are your favorites from a typical chinese take-out place?
Do you always order the same things or do you try different things?

My usuals are sesame chicken, or chicken with broccoli or some other kind of vegetable (in a regular brown sauce). Also love a pork eggroll, pork fried rice (so bad but so good!)

Usually I get steamed dumplings and/or boneless spare ribs. Sesame chicken, orange beef or chicken and a special at the place I go to... Delight of Three... chicken, beef, shrimp in a special sauce with baby corn, snow peas, straw mushrooms and broccoli. Very rarely I will get roast pork egg foo young.
DH's family goes to a different place for sit down dinners. They get peking duck, some kind of tofu dish, pecan chicken, lobster cantonese
I've tried other things, but don't like many.

When we order take-out I almost always get chicken and broccoli. Depending on where we are ordering from, I may get boneless spareribs.
I also love egg rolls, pork fried rice and roast pork lo mein.
I really don't venture far from those items when we do take-out.
I used to get cold sesame noodles a lot when I lived in Queens but I haven't found a place I like it from near where I currently live.

I will often try the 'house specialties' thinking that they must really like the way they prepare those items!
When ordering for my family I'm boring. They like extra spicy General Tso's, Pork fried rice, white rice and Wonton Soup. I'll normally get an Egg Drop soup for myself and maybe some dim sum if I know they actually make it the way I like it. If we are eating there I like crispy pan fried noodles.

We rarely order Chinese...we like it but after feel ill from all the salt...
I love wonton soup, hot and sour soup, egg drop soup
Chicken chow fun, lo mein, pork fried rice.

i am boring and pretty much order the same thing
steamed veggie or pork dumplings and a soup. either wonton or hot and sour soup. i love scallion pancakes but they need to be done right and the place we go to doesn't make them the way i like. i also love veggie lo mein. i'm soooo hungry now!

I go between steamed dumplings, General Tso's chicken, sesame chicken, and beef and broccoli.
I ALWAYS get fried cheese wontons.

I like to try something new sometimes, but usually we alternate between
-general tso's chicken
-chicken and broccoli
-moo shu pork (one of my faves)
-shrimp in black bean sauce
-pineapple chicken
-chicken and peaches
-beef with string beans
And then usually dumplings or ribs and fried rice.
My all-time favorite place closed a few years ago and they made amazing cold sesame noodles, haven't been able to find anything similar.

For me it's either chicken and broccoli or beef and broccoli with pork fried rice.
Occasionally I will get an order of steamed vegetable dumplings.
DH only orders boneless spareribs w/pork fried rice.
Pretty boring

steamd chicken and veggies with garlic sauce on the side
lo mein (i like veggie or shrimp bf likes beef)
and sometimes I'll steal a few pieces of dear BF's sweet & sour chicken
