What tricks did you teach your dog
I am considering teaching Diesel some tricks to help stimulate his mind since he isnt really getting walks these days.
Also - what other excercise ideas can I do in the winter? I tried walking him the other day and I was back after 6 min bc it was way too cold. And during the week, there is no way I will bring the baby out when its this cold
right now we play hide and seek in the house. Or just run back and forth. But I have such a small house! so I dont think its doing much. We also do kong stuffed with sweet potatoes

No tricks here but we do this too!
But now with DD and all her stuff, poor doggies barely have anywhere to run.

Achilles runs laps around our dining room tables for exercise it's pretty funny, he's clumsy and runs into things alot. (I know I'm such a mean mommy!)
But he catches onto learning tricks really quick for a puppy IMO. So far he sits, stands on his hind legs, gives paw and "other paw", he can fetch, and plays dead when we say "Bang Bang", DH taught him how to catch food when he throws it the other day, and he knows stay & come. Next up is roll over!!

Char knows:
sit
lay down
head down
paw
up (ballerina)
dead dog
go to your bed
some of them she knows on verbal and non-verbal cues.
we trained her ourselves - DH is excellent at that.

to keep him stimulated in the winter i would suggest having him fetch inside the house. we tell char to "get the run on" and we work her up and she runs around. a day at the groomer is always fun for her because afterwards she gets to go into the playroom with all the other dogs.
we play hide & seek too! she is so good at it!
